Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 Les modes de fonctionnement et d'utilisation sont les suivants - comme le montre la    fig.   5, un balancier est mis en place par l'extrémité inférieure de son axe 23 dans le trou 7 du tasseau-support 4, après soulèvement    suffisant   de la broche 6 pour permettre son passage ;

   le levier 19 occupe, comme le montre cette    figure,   une position approximativement horizontale, position dans laquelle la pointe 12 du tasseau 10 a traversé le trou 13 de la base de la broche 6 et fait saillie au-dessous de celle-ci ; - la broche est ensuite abaissée jusqu'à ce que sa base vienne en contact avec la virole 24 du balancier, comme le montre la    fig.   6 ; à ce moment, avec le doigt, on fait tourner la serge du balancier 25 jusqu'à ce que la pointe conique 12 du tasseau s'engage dans la fente de la virole 24 ; cet engagement est reconnaissable par un déclic ; - la broche 6 étant maintenue en position basse, le levier 19 est soulevé comme le montre la    fig.   7 ;

 Tool for mounting and removing hairsprings The present invention relates to a tool for mounting and removing hairsprings, this tool comprises a support and a spindle having two coaxial holes to receive the two ends of the balance axis, the support being fixed while the axially displaceable spindle laterally carries a cleat terminated by a point penetrating into a hole drilled in the base of the spindle and intended to enter the slot of the ferrule, and a lever for moving said cleat.

  The appended schematic drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, one embodiment of this tool.

  Fig. 1 is a side elevation view thereof.

  Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are, on an enlarged scale, side elevational views, in vertical section and in plan respectively from below, of the lower part of the spindle and of the elements which it carries.

  Figs. 5 to 9 are elevational views showing the different phases of an operation for removing a hairspring.

  A base 2 serves as a support through the center of its plate 3 to a cleat 4 and through the end of its stem 5 to a spindle 6 arranged coaxially with the cleat 4 and able to be moved, along its axis, vertically. The cleat 4 and the base of the pin 6 each have a hole 7 and 8 respectively; these two holes are coaxial.

  The pin 6 has, in its lower part, a flat area 9 of smaller section, which does not extend to its lower end. Along this area 9 is placed a cleat consisting of a steel blade 1Q ending in a conical point 12. Opposite this point, the base of the spindle has a hole 13 offset from the central hole 8. The blade constituting the cleat 10 has, in its upper part, a hole for fixing a finger. side 15 and it comprises, in its middle part, an elongated slot 16 through which freely passes the rod of a screw 17 screwed into the spindle 6.

  Above its zone 9, the spindle 6 carries another screw 18 placed parallel to that 17 and serving as an articulation axis for a lever 19 ending, at its end on the spindle side, with two jaws 20 and 21. The The same screw 18 allows the fixing of a spring 19 in the form of a pin, the two ends of which grip the finger 15 of the cleat 10.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 The modes of operation and use are as follows - as shown in fig. 5, a balance is placed by the lower end of its axis 23 in the hole 7 of the support bracket 4, after sufficient lifting of the spindle 6 to allow its passage;

   the lever 19 occupies, as shown in this figure, an approximately horizontal position, a position in which the point 12 of the cleat 10 has passed through the hole 13 in the base of the spindle 6 and protrudes below the latter; - the spindle is then lowered until its base comes into contact with the shell 24 of the balance, as shown in fig. 6; at this moment, with the finger, the rim of the balance 25 is rotated until the conical point 12 of the cleat engages in the slot of the ferrule 24; this commitment is recognizable by a click; - the pin 6 being kept in the lower position, the lever 19 is raised as shown in FIG. 7;

   by its beak 20, exerting pressure on the finger 15, it forces the cleat 10 to descend and therefore the conical point 12 to sink into the slot of the ferrule 24, which causes the opening of the latter; - All that remains then is to lift the spindle while maintaining the balance 25 on the cleat 4; by lifting, the spindle takes with it the ferrule 24 and the balance spring 26, as shown in fig. 8; - Finally, it suffices to lower the lever 19 so that the ferrule and the balance spring are released by the tool, as shown in FIG. 9; The lowering of the lever 19 causes, in fact, by the nose 21 of this lever, a lifting of the finger 15 and, therefore of the cleat 10, lifting such that the point 12 rises beyond the base of the spindle 6.

  The ferrule is replaced on the balance by simply lowering the spindle 6 and, therefore, the cleat 10 carrying a collar 24 until contact with the balance, then by pressing the lever 19, in order to release the point 12 out of the slot in the ferrule, which allows the latter to tighten around the axis of the balance; a slight pressure is, of course, exerted simultaneously on the pin 6 so that the ferrule closes in the right place on the axis 23 of the balance.

  The descent of the lever is advantageously facilitated by a spring 19a which, bearing fixed on the spindle, constantly tends to push the cleat back by its lateral finger 15.

  This tool allows; therefore, to assemble and disassemble, easily and quickly, the springs, without risking distorting one of the elements: balance, hairspring, axis or balance.
