EMI0001.0033
1'-diphenyl- amin-3'-sulfonsäure, 2-Nitro-1,1'-diphenylamin-4'-sulfonsäure-4-sulfon- säurer(4"-aminophenylamid), 4'-Methylamino-2-nitro-1,1'-diphenylamin-4- sulfonsäure, 3'-Amino-2-nitro-1,1'-diphenylamin-4-sulfonsäure, 3' Amino-4'-methyl-2-nitro-1,1'-diphenylamin-4- sulfonsäure, 3' Amino-6'-methyl-2-nitro-1,1'-diphenylamin-4- sulfonsäure, 2 Nitro-1,1'-(Ephenylamin-4'-sulfonsäure-4-sulfon- säure-(2"-aminoäthylamid),

B. in Ace ton.

Process for the preparation of water-soluble reactive dyes The present invention provides a process for the preparation of water-soluble reactive dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0007
where PC is the remainder of a phthalocyanine, X is an optionally substituted, divalent hydrocarbon radical,
Z an acyl radical containing at least one substituent which can be split off as an anion and / or a CC multiple bond capable of addition or a polyhalotriazinyl or polyhalopyrimidyl radical, R the radical of a nitro dye containing at least one water-solubilizing group, Al, A, and AS each represent a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl radical with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a, b and c each mean 1 or 2,
the sum a + b + c is 3 or 4, and the dye contains the number of water-solubilizing groups necessary for solubility in water.
The process for the preparation of the new dyes is characterized in that 1 mol of a phthalocyanine tri or -tetrasulfonic acid chloride with b 1M1 of an amine of the formula
EMI0001.0027
wherein Y represents Z, represents an acyl radical different from Z or, if the radical -X- bears an -SO, H group, also represents a hydrogen atom, with c moles of an amino nitro dye of the formula
EMI0001.0033
and reacts with a mole of water and,
if Y stands for hydrogen, without further treatment, or if Y stands for an acyl radical, after this acyl radical has been cleaved, the free amino group is acylated with an acylating agent which also can be split off as an anion. Substituents and / or a C-C multiple bond capable of adding or reacting with a polyhalotriazine or polyhalopyrimidine.
As water-solubilizing groups come e.g. B. into consideration: the sulfonic acid group, the carboxylic acid group, the. Methylsulfonyl or ethylsulfonyl group and the optionally monosubstituted sulfonic acid amide group, preferably by low molecular weight hydrocarbon radicals. The dyes of the formula (I) advantageously carry at least two sulfonic acid groups in order to have the water solubility required in practice.
On the other hand, more than six sulfonic acid groups can hardly be introduced into the dye molecule. The dyes of the formula (I) preferably contain three to five sulfonic acid groups, some of which can be replaced by carboxylic acid, alkylsulfonyl or, if appropriate, monosubstituted sulfonic acid amide groups.
It should be noted, however. that the water-solubilizing effect of the carboxylic acid group and the optionally monosubstituted sulfonic acid amide group is strongly pH-dependent. The reaction of the phthalocanine tri- or -tetra-sulphonic acid chloride with the amine of the formula (II) and with the aminonitro dye of the formula (11I) is carried out in an aqueous-organic or preferably in an aqueous solution or suspension. It works before geous at low temperature, for. B. at 0 to 10 C, or at room temperature or elevated temperature, in weakly acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline medium, z. B. in the pH range 6 to 9, in the presence of acid-binding agents.
Any sulfonic acid chloride groups still present after the condensation with the aminonitro dye and the amine of the formula (1I) are saponified to sulfonic acid groups, where if the substituent Y of the amine stands for a reactive acyl radical Z, the conditions are to be chosen so that this radical is not damaged. If the substituent Y of the amine is an acyl group, this group is split off, e.g.
B. by heating with a dilute mineral acid, preferably with a 4 to 10% hydrochloric or sulfuric acid, at 70 to 100 C.
The easiest way to introduce the acid residues is usually by using the acid halides in question, and in some cases also the acid anhydrides. It is preferable to work at low temperatu ren, z. B. at 0 to 20 C, and in the presence of acid-binding agents such as sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide or sodium acetate in a weakly acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline reaction, for example in the pH range 4 to 9.
For acylation, the carboxylic acid chlorides as such or in twice to five times the amount of benzene, chlorobenzene, methylbenzene, dimethylbenzene or acetone are added dropwise to the aqueous, well-buffered solution of the body carrying the amino group, e.g. B. at a temperature of 2-5 C. The acylation can also be carried out with the anhydrides in the same way.
The introduction of a Dihalogencyanurrest is best in an aqueous medium at about 0 C and with a weakly acidic reaction, z. B. at pH values between 3 and 5, made. The cyanuric halide is used as such in solid form or dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. B. in Ace ton. For the primary condensation products of a cyanuric halide, it is best to choose a temperature of 30 to 60 C and a pH of 4 to 6, while temperatures between 40 and 100 C are most suitable for the tri- or tetrahalopyrimidines.
If temperatures higher than about 50 C have to be used, it is advisable to work in vessels equipped with a reflux condenser with regard to the water vapor volatility of individual halopyrimidines. The reaction can be carried out in a weakly acidic, neutral to weakly alkaline medium, preferably in the pH range 3 to 9.
To keep the pH constant, either an acid-binding agent such as sodium acetate or a phosphate buffer is added to the reaction mixture at the beginning, or sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate in solid, powdered or aqueous form is added in small portions during the reaction Solution.
However, aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents. The addition of small amounts of a wetting agent or emulsifier to the reaction mixture can accelerate the reaction.
When reacting with the halogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, the flow is such that only one halogen atom reacts with an exchangeable hydrogen atom of the amino group.
The phthalocyanine dyes obtained, containing at least one reactive group, are separated from their aqueous solutions by adding salt, then filtered off, optionally washed and then dried.
The amines of the formula (II) in which Y is a reactive substituent Z are, for. B. manufactured in the manner described in Swiss Patent No. 370 513 be. The new reactive dyes of the phthalocyanine series, which have 3 or more water-solubilizing groups, preferably sulfonic acid groups, have good solubility in water, good stability in printing pastes and padding solutions, good compatibility with salts and hard water, good reactivity with vegetable fibers,
animal and synthetic polyamide fibers; they are insensitive to heavy metal ions such as copper, iron and chromium ions and reserve acetate, triacetate, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride,
Polyvinyl acetate and polyalkylene fibers. Thanks to their only moderate substantivity, the unfixed dye content can be easily washed out of the prints or dyeings on cellulose fibers.
The reactive dyes, which carry only 2 water-solubilizing groups, preferably sulfonic acid groups, are well suited for the so-called Ausziehver drive for cellulose fibers and for the acidic dyeing of wool, silk and synthetic polyamide fibers.
The new reactive dyes are suitable for dyeing ben, padding and printing of fibers of animal origin, z. B. wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers, z. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen and fibers from regenerated cellulose, z. B. viscose rayon, copper rayon, rayon, and mixtures and / or structures made of these fibers. The optimal application conditions vary depending on the type of fiber and the dyes used.
Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers will preferably be dyed and printed or fixed in an acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline medium, 7. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, sodium metaphosphate, etc. You can also use Presence of leveling agents, e.g.
B. polyoxyethylated fatty amines or mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, acidic to neutral color and at the end of the coloration the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline agent such. B. ammonia, sodium carbonate or carbonate, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z. B. hexamethylene tetramine, urea, blunt to a neutral or weakly alkaline reaction.
This is followed by thorough rinsing and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
The dyeings obtained have good light and wet fastness properties (washing, perspiration, fulling, water, sea water, potting fastness properties) and good rub and dry cleaning fastness properties (organic solvents).
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc. To avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents such as 1-nitrobenzene are often advantageous when dyeing, padding or printing the fibers. 3-sulfonic acid sodium, added.
In the case of cellulose fibers, too, the dyes are usually fixed in the heat. Some of the dyes can, depending on the reactivity of the reactive groups, even at low temperatures, e.g. B. 20 to 40 C colored or fixed.
The addition of certain quaternizable amines, such as trimethylamine, triethylenediamine, or asymmetric dimethylhydrazine, preferably in stoichiometric amounts, accelerates the fixation of the dye on the fiber so that the fixing temperature can be reduced and / or the fixing time can be shortened.
The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are characterized by good lightfastness, excellent wetfastness (washing, perspiration, water, seawater and alkali fastness) as well as rub and dry cleaning fastness. These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and the cellulose molecule. Often not all of the dye takes part in the chemical conversion. part with the fiber.
The proportion of the unreacted dye is removed from the fiber in these cases by suitable operations such as rinsing and / or Beef, optionally using higher temperatures, with syn thetic detergents such. B. alkylarysulfonates, e.g. B. sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, alkyl sulfates, e.g. B. sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, optionally sulfated or carboxymethylated alkyl polyglycol ethers, mono- and dialkylphenyl polyglycol ethers, are used.
