Abstract
According to the invention, aryloxyalkylpiperidines of formula: <IMAGE> in which R', R'' and R2 represent hydrogen or a lower alkyl and n = 1 or 2, are prepared by N-acylation of the corresponding 4-(phenylamino)piperidines using an agent capable of introducing the alkanoyl group. These compounds and their salts display antihypertensive properties and are practically free of analgesic effect, in contrast to the already known 4-aminopiperidines which are powerful neuroleptic and analgesic agents. They can be used as a medicament for hypertension.
