Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Gerbmittels. Vorliegendes Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Gerbmittels beruht darauf, dass man zunächst das technische Gemisch der Sulfo- säuren von ui- und p-Kresol nebst Naphtyl- amindisulfosäure 2 : 6 :
8 mit Formaldehyd in hinlänglicher Verdünnung in Gegenwart von wenig Schwefelsäure bei 70 bis 80 C konden siert und hierauf die erhaltene Lösung, welche das einen hochwertigen Gerbstoff darstellende Kondensationsprodukt in gelöstem Zustande nebst freier Schwefelsäure enthält, neutrali siert, und zwar mindestens teilweise mit einem Hydroxyd eines Metalles, dessen Salze selbst gerbende Wirkung haben. Als solche Metall hydroxyde kommen in Betracht das Hydroxyd des Chroms, des Aluminiums, des Eisens etc.
Die nach dem Verfahren in einer Stärke von 24 bis 28 B6. erhaltene Gerbrnittel- lösung ist vollkommen gebrauchsfertig, in handelsüblicher Form und bedarf keinerlei Reinigung oder sonstiger Behandlung. Ausser ihrer sehr hohen Gerbwirkung hat sie noch die Eigenschaft, dem damit gegerbten Leder eine gelbe Farbe zu erteilen, so dass eine weitere Färbung des Leders entweder unter bleiben kann oder nur noch eine schwache Nachfärbung auf einen gewünschten Farben- ton stattzufinden hat.
Die bei der Gerbung erhaltene gelbe Färbung des Leders gibt auch einen guten Grundton ab, um darauf ein tiefes, sattes Schwarz zu erzielen.
<I>Beispiel</I> 23,5 kg des technischen Gemisches derSulfo- säuren von m- und p-Kresol werden in 80 Liter Wasser gelöst und mit 43,2 kg 2 : 6 : 8 naphtylamindisulfosaiirem Natrium (entspre chend 37,75 kg reiner Säure) versetzt; das Gemisch wird auf 70 bis 80 C erwärmt. 37,5 kg -dreissigprozentiger Formaldehyd wer den mit 25 Liter Nasser verdünnt und dann mit 19 kg konzentrierter Schwefelsäure von <B>661</B> Be. versetzt. Diese Lösung wird eben falls auf 70 C erwärmt und zu dem obigen Gemische zulaufen gelassen.
Nach der Kondensation werden frühestens nach zwei Stunden 29,2 kg Tonerdehydrat- paste, enthaltend 3,19 kg trockenes Alz" (013)c, hinzugefügt. Eine Gerbstoffanaly se nach der Hautpulverfiltermethode ergab folgende Zu sammensetzung: Gerbende Stoffe 27,91 % Nichtgerbstoffe 6,410/0 Unlösliches 1,530/, Wasser 64,15%
