Description

Mechanism for controlling blades in looms. The present invention relates to a mechanism for controlling blades in weaving looms.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment (the mechanism which is intended to be employed in vertical chain looms.

Fig. 1 is a section taken along line 1-1 of FIG. 4; Fig. 2 is a partial elevational view of the mechanism from the rear (viewed from above; Fig. 3 is a section taken along the line 111-111 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a plan view ( the part (the mechanism which is. shown in fig. 2.

By means of a pinion mounted on the main shaft h chi loom, two shafts c and d (fig. 1 to 3) which are -placed inside (read loom and provided (the wheels r and / '. r-receive a movement (the rotation ,, ii direction in reverse.

The shed as it is represented in the drawing comprises four layers (@ii in the form of rectangular frames i (fig. 'T; -u- perposed (, fig. 1 and' '), the rails being removed. In the drawing, each larva is actuated by a pair of levers 1 - i, 2--2, 3-3 and 4-4.

These levers are arranged in two groups on each side of the loom, and threaded onto a fixed shaft parallel to shafts c and d. The length of the upper arms (these levers go decreasing. From levers 1, 1 to levers 4,

4 according to the distance between the corresponding blade and the tree g. Each lever is provided at its upper end with an arched head k (the.

circle concentric with respect to the ar bre çq and provided with an longitudinal groove r (fig. 2) clans which engages a rod h integral with the corresponding blade - Cliacune (these rods h is: connected with. head I, - respective by means of two flexible members o for example belts, one of which is:

intended to move the corresponding blade, during the movement of the respective lever in -His direction, and the other to return the blade clans its original position during the movement in the same direction: iilverse said. the sink.

The lower arms of levers 1--1, 2 --- 2 etc. who have. tou # - (the @@ equal length. each carry a roller 1. Each lever is actuated by a pair of carnes rri n wedged one opposite the other on your trees c resp. d) The corresponding vector radii of each pair of cams are complementary, so that each roller 1, thus trapped between the two corre sponding flanges, will execute a constrained movement.

Cams ni. and ii are arranged on their respective shafts in such a way that they cause for each all of said shafts successively a complete oscillation of each pair of levers 1-1, resp. ? etc. to give rise to the formation of four crowds.

Ccmrn.e the upper arms of the levers 1-1, 2 ->? etc. have different lengths, the individual blades therefore have.

different and progressive strokes as they move away from the shaft q. By increasing or decreasing the number of blades and in proportion to this number that of levers and cams, any desired armor can be obtained. The gear ratio of the pinion and control wheels can be easily. varied by changing the said pinion.

The blades of the. remisse being actuated by the means below: described above, and obeying: perfectly in both directions of travel to the action of their: levers do not need the springs or counterweights used until now. to bring them back in either direction or the other.

Each blade controlled by a lever, the practical length of which is different from that of the other levers of the same group, produces a shed, the opening of which is different: from that produced by the other blades.
