Description

  La fi,-. 1 en est une     vue    latérale et mon  tre une partie d'un transporteur menant à       cette    machine;  La     fig.    2 est une vue     cri    coupe     longit.udi-          na,le    de     ila    machine à glacer principale, et de  divers     transporteurs    sur lesquels les bonbons    progressent dans l'ensemble de l'opération de       glacage;

       La fig. 3 est une coupe suivant la ligne 3-3 de la fig. 1, des parties étant enlevées, et La fig. i est une vue en plan de dessus de l'appareil de glaçage de fond. des parties étant enlevées Dans les diverses figures on a supprimé certaines parties qui ne sont pas nécessaires à la compréhension de l'invention.

       I.',,rgitateni-    1.00 est fixé au     .sommet        d'un     a     rba-e    16 à     l'aïde    d'un disque 73. L'arbreif;       traverse    des parties tubulaires concentriques       ';0        el;

  'itqui s'élèvent du centre du réservoir 1 â. double paroi, et servent de paliers à cet ar bre.La roue 17 est calée sur l'arbre 16, qui opère avec. une v ites,se grandement réduite. Le disque 'i3 et l'agitateur peuvent reposer sur le sommet des parties i0 et ii. L'agita teur 100 est. construit pour exercer une action spéciale sur le chocolat du réservoir 1 en vue (le séparer et chasser l'air du chocolat..

   Ainsi  (tue représenté, cet agitateur     possède    un  moyeu 90 et des plaques verticales 91 incli  nées par rapport à des plans radiaux; les pa  rois verticales     9 ?    sont en retrait vers le cen  tre et. près du fond du réservoir, et sont re  liées aux fonds de plaques 91 par des     pla-          ques        horizontales    93;

The machine according to the invention comprises a reservoir for the glazing material, means for bringing this material from this reservoir to at least one point of application on the objects to be glazed and for returning the excess glaze to the reservoir, the reservoir containing means for acting on said material so as to rid it of the air trapped in it.

  The product of this machine has a degree of homogeneity that a similar machine did not have, not the present improvement did not achieve.

  The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, a key embodiment of the subject of the invention, intended for chocolate icing.

  The fi, -. 1 is a side view and shows part of a conveyor leading to this machine; Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the main icing machine, and of various conveyors on which the candies progress throughout the icing operation;

       Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1, parts being removed, and FIG. i is a top plan view of the bottom icing apparatus. parts being removed In the various figures certain parts have been deleted which are not necessary for an understanding of the invention.

  The machine shown has a reservoir. clieinise 1 for chocolate, tank see resting on a heavenly pedestal, containing part of the mechanism: control.

   On the top of the tank 1. there is a box 2 to maintain the temperature. The inside of the box and its length are. heated by a self-regulating device, so that the chocolate in the dispenser and that in the storage container 1. can be kept at approximately the same temperature, which is best for icing.

  The conveyors intended for transporting the sweets for the various icing operations are particularly shown in FIG. 2. Carriers a b c d and e are arranged so that each of them receives the goods from the previous carrier.

       The conveyor b is mounted to advance in the bottom icing key container 4 carried by the support 5, and is made of metal wire or is perforated, so that the chocolate can pass through it from below to coat the bottom or base of the candies .. f is. the. control roller, g a tensioning member and h a guide bar.

   The upper strand of the conveyor c passes over a shallow closed container. 6 of dimensions approximately equal to the upper strand, and cold water or another refrigerant circulates in the receptacle by means of inlet and outlet pipes 7. f1 is the control roller for the conveyor c; g1 is a tensioning member and h 'a. guide bar.

   The conveyor d is similar in construction to the conveyor b so that the chocolate coming from a chocolate container 8 (carried by the box 2) and emitted by flow grooves 9 can coat the candies and at the same time pass through the transporter to return to tank 1.

    The rotary rollers 60 - whose axes are housed in the box 2, pass the chocolate from the grooves 9 against the bottom of the candies in order to apply the main base glaze in the usual way. f = is the control roller by the conveyor d, g2 the tensioning member, and h2 h 'are the guide bars. e designates the: last carrier, f its control roller, g the tensioner, h4 h5 the guide bars and i the support bars ..

  P is the pump intended to suck the cho colat from the reservoir 1 and to transport it to the separate locations described below. This pump is controlled by the following components:

   the shaft 18, controlled by the motor 7n, the toothed wheels 19 and 1.3, the shaft 20, the toothed wheels 14 and 11,] ': shaft 23, the toothed wheel 12, the toothed wheel 17, two wheels: conical 21 and 22 mounted in free play on a shaft-? -fî and in constant mesh. on diametrically opposed points with the toothed deckhouse 17. The conical wheels are held in position by appropriate collet wrenches and are each connected to control a key coupling elements 26 and 27.

   Between these coupling elements. 2 6 and 27, a sleeve 25 covering its. ends of the coupling members. opposites, is grooved and tongue mounted on the shaft 24. The sleeve 25 is actuated to mesh with .l'element 26 or with]. 'element 27, by means of flanges 2S and. of a fork. 29 fixed on the .ha: rre 30 which is established and slides: on the pedestal to be operated by the hand lever 31 (fig. 1.).

    This arrangement means that the shaft 24 can be actuated in either direction by the. toothed wheel 17 using wheel spanners 21 and 22.

  The shaft 32 key the rotary pump P is: connected to, the shaft 24 by a chain 33 and chain wheels, so that the pump can be. actuated in either direction as described above,: by means of shaft 24 and its control connections. The hand crank 96 is mounted and slides on the shaft 24 with a coupling element for manually operating the sleeve 34 and the shaft when desired. One (the cogwheels of a 50 rotary pump are keyed to shaft 32.

  A chain wheel 10 attached to the shaft 23 is connected by a chain 35 to one. wheel for .chain of a shaft 36. The latter as well as shafts such as 37, connected by universal joint elements at 38 and. 39, are adapted to actuate * by control connections not shown, the various carriers a b c d and e. The levers 40, 41 and 112 are interconnected: them, so that the. control of one lever ensures that key the other, this for a purpose which will be described.

    We. will understand from the above that the control of the pump P; .eut. be born? i- paid. direction without overturning the controlled parts of the rest of the machine: The flow receptacle is carried in an adjustable manner on the top of the box 2 by spaced bars 43 of which. only one is shown.

   The fan F is operated by a separate motor and the force of the jet from the nozzle S can be adjusted as desired by a suitable damper (not shown). The air for the fan is sucked in by connections Sl arranged one on each side (the fan, to communicate with the hot air inside (the box 2. The nozzle S can: be brought closer to and away from the conveyor e ipar appropriate adjustment means, so as to be able to apply air to remove part of the glazes :, as desired.

   A coupling (not shown) placed on the shaft 36 and actuated by the return lever 41 is intended to stop the transporter d. The shaft 37 is connected to the shaft 36 by a coupling (not shown) actuated by the lever 42. The components at the conveyor d are all actuated (the shaft 37.

   The levers 41 and 42 are. connected to operate together, so that if the transporter d is stopped, the main member leading to this transporter is stopped, otherwise the candies would pile up on the carrier d. When the latter is stopped for some reason and carries freshly iced candies, it is desirable to cut off the air flow from the nozzle S, otherwise the chocolate from the candies stopped under the nozzle S would be removed: by S'air at the expense of quality, glazes.

   Consequently. a system (the rods indicated at 44 (fig. 1), connects a register established in the outlet of the fan F, to: lever 41., so that when the last co is actuated to stop the conveyor d, ale register is. actuated to close the fan outlet F.

  The base icing device is particularly shown in FIG. 2, and fig. 4 shows it in plan with parts removed. This apparatus comprises the reservoir Ar open at the top, with the rotary pump 50 at the bottom and a door 51. for cleaning. A bottom icing roll 52 extends transversely under the conveyor b.

   A receptacle 53 open at its ends is curved around the lower path of the roller 52 to form a chocolate gutter, the receptacle is adjustably carried on a rail in the reservoir 4, as indicated, and its edge. upper outer can be moved closer to and away from the roller 52 by means of the pivot.é adjustment lever 54 - to which the container is fixed.

   The chocolate enters through the pipe 55 (controlled by the valve 551), fills the space between the gutter and the roller 52 'and then overflows at the ends and at the edge into the reservoir 4.

   The rotary pump 50 operates in such a way as to maintain the reservoir see 11, practically empty, as will be described below. The rollers f and 52 as well as the pump 50 can be actuated from a shaft 56 which is connected, by a device (control # 3'7 (fig. 1), and can be turned when desired. means of the steering wheel â, hand 561 (fig. 4).

   The control connection is made by a chain 57 to the shaft of the roller j and of this shaft .pa) r of the toothed wheels enclosed in the box 5,13 to the. pump 50 and by any other suitable transmission, not shown, to roller 52.

  The setting of the container. 53 determines the quantity or thickness (the chocolate picked by the roll. 5 \ N and applied to the bottom of the vouchers placed on the conveyor b. The vouchers; laced on the bottom in the desired way, automatically pass. the. conveyor c above said cooler vessel 6.

   This cools the base glazes before the candies arrive on the conveyor d. In this way, the main glazes applied to the conveyor d. are applied after the previous basecoat has cooled, ie set.

   Bottom icing rollers 60 operated. of shaft 36, are conventional devices used to apply the base glazes to the candies located on the conveyor d. that one. use or not use the appliance. ice funds located at a distance. The prior base glaze being frozen. allows the second basecoat to be applied as a second coat.

   When the two ground glazes are applied in this manner, a thick oven glaze is obtained which is, very, very desirable for coupons of superior duality.

  Transporters to: ganes, for example shirts with t: u @ -aux, to transport chocolate. of the. rotary pump P to the receptacle (the i nis-llement .S, and by the pipe 55 to the receptacle 53, are. denoted respectively by L and I_ '. 1.1 must , especially note that these pipes bring the chocolate, for all the operations of glazing of the bottom of the tank see 1, where, as it will appear in the following.

    the chocolate is of the best quality for the icing, thanks to the means associated with the reservoir 1, that is to say the means. consisting of the upper temperature control system, a stirrer 100 and its action to make the quality chocolate uniform and free from air. In that way, yes. the pipes L and Ll are. emptied by reversing the rotation of pump P at the end of the icing operations. the chocolate will have for subsequent glazing operations the desired uniform duality determined by the conditions of the main tank 1.

   If chocolate. remained in the L pipes and. L1 between glazing operations, the machine would not be ready to glaze again as quickly, as time would be spent to (.feed chocolate from pipes L and V to tank 1 and restore it to good condition for job, or the first applied glazes would be of inferior quality to those applied after the machine has been operating correctly under normal conditions.

  The reservoir is emptied by the rotary pump 50 delivering the chocolate through the pipe D at the top of the mass of the reservoir 1. The pipes L L 'and. D have shirts nearly over their entire length, as indicated, and.

   circulation of an agent to regulate the temperature (for example steam or hot or cold water) is hand held in the spaces of the jackets of these pipes and in the spaces of the jacket of the pump P, these spaces are preferably all connected to a single temperature control system, the piping of which is indicated by z, and the discharge pipe by O.

  The pipe L ends in a nozzle di erected downwards and. arranged, above the flow reci- r) ierit S. From this nozzle, similar pipes K connected in T extend transversely and then backwards so as to emerge outside the box 2 along each side and close to the conveyor c.

   The pressure of the pipe L is sufficient to ensure a flow of the choco lat des. pipe "K at points E located one on each side of the conveyor e. The chocolate lat out.

   (the pipes K is simply taken by the fingers of the operator or by an instrument and it is deposited in a net., on the good ice creams according to the desired decorative designs, in order to garnish the frozen objects. This chocolate is of There is a duality due to the ice cream on all sides of the candy.

   Under pipes 1? and under the conveyor e is a collecting container which brings back the choco lat to the sorrrrriet (reservoir 1.

       I. ',, rgitateni- 1.00 is fixed to the top of a rba-e 16 at the aid of a disk 73. The  if;  shaft passes through concentric tubular parts'; 0 el;

  'it which rise from the center of reservoir 1 â. double wall, and serve as bearings for this shaft. L the wheel 17 is wedged on the shaft 16, which operates with it. one speed, is greatly reduced. The disk 'i3 and the agitator can rest on the top of the parts i0 and ii. The agitator 100 is. built to exert a special action on the chocolate of the tank 1 in order to (it separate and expel the air from the chocolate ..

   Thus (shown, this agitator has a hub 90 and vertical plates 91 inclined with respect to radial planes; the vertical walls 9? Are set back towards the center and near the bottom of the tank, and are connected. to the backs of the plates 91 by horizontal plates 93;

   stirring blades 9) are. located between the hub 90 and the plates 91 and agitator blades 94 are located between the hub 90 and the walls 9 ?. The blades 9, -5 ct 94 are inclined downwards in the direction of their rotation. The blades 94 extend from the hub a distance considerably less than the radius of the reservoir, while the blades 95 located above the blades 94 start (the hub and meet, at the plates. 91 to form agitator coulters with them.

   This arrangement causes the blades and plates in contact with the chocolate to do so. turn and climb into the tank. The only force which acts to bring down the choco lat is gravity. An annular space A away from the described blades is provided on the bottom of the tank, and the pump inlet 1 is connected to this space.

   We realize that with the ô stirrer construction described. the chocolate after it has completed each key movement cycle and is emptied into tank 1 at the top, is worked by the blades to transport it circularly and keep it at the top where it gets rid of its trapped air.

   Gravity alone causes it to descend slowly against the action of the blades, until it reaches space A where, being at this moment free of air and par- ticularly conditioned for the icing. , he is.

    sucked into the pump P and again crushed at, the place where part of the chocolate is applied as a glaze either by the base glaze apparatus, or by the discharge vessel, or by the operators at the points T. This way, regardless of where WHERE the chocolate is used, it can give a uniform premium glaze.
