U to the upper piston 21. The upper piston 21 is provided with two slots 10, 180 to each other and placed at the upper end and at the lower end of the piston.
In one of the neutral positions, one of the lights 10 is located opposite the duct 11 of one of the cylinders and in the other neutral position, the other light 10 is located opposite the conduit 1.1 .de the other cylinder. In the lower neutral position, the upper edge of the piston 22 is located below the lumen 35 of the cylinder 12. The operation is similar to that of the arrangement described with reference to FIGS. 1. to 3.
Fig. 9 shows an engine in which a slide is arranged in a cylinder 67, between two working cylinders 42, 43, with pistons 115, 46. Two closed housings. crank 53, 511, form two pumps with the pistons 46, 45. Ducts 51, 52 lead .des car ters 53, Yi upwards and open into the cylinder 67, in diametrically opposed positions. In this cylinder also open two pipes 59, 62 which lead to the combustion spaces of the cylinders 42, 43. The spool 55 is in the form of a hollow cylindrical piston; closed at the top and at the bottom.
The 55 drawer has a duct 56, which pours it transversely and -whose upper mouth 50 is located opposite the mouth of duct 52 (fig. 9), when the drawer is in the lower neutral position, while its lower mouth 49 is opposite the mouth of duct 51 when spool 55 reaches the upper neutral position. Drawer 55 further has two ports at 180 58, 61 .; in the lower neutral position.
of the drawer 55, the lumen 61 is facing the mouth of the duct 51 (fig. 9), but in the upper neutral position, the other lumen 58 is facing the mouth chi duct 52. Drawer 55 still has lights 57, 60, which. are located opposite the mouths of -conduits 59, 62, when the spool 55 adopts one or the other neutral position.
The middle portion of conduit 56 is communicated by a side lumen (not shown in the drawings) with a carburetor. communication existing during the entire travel of the spool 55. In the position shown. on fg. 9, the piston 46 is in its lowest position, and the mixture, sucked into the crankcase 53, has been compressed by the piston 46 in its downward motion, and is conducted into the space of. combustion -du cylinder 43 through conduit 51, lumen 61, through the upper part of drawer 55, through lumen 60 and through conduit 62.
The spool 55, the handle of which is not offset with respect to that of the piston 46, adopts in the upper neutral position, a position such that the slot 58 communicates with the duct 52, and the slot 57 with the pipe 59, so that the mixture passes, from the casing 54 through 52, 58, into the lower part of the spool 55. From there, the mixture passes around the duct 56 and reaches the upper part of the spool, from where he goes through the lights. 57, 59 in the combustion space of the cylinder 42.
The engine (fig. 10) has a working cylinder 70 with differential piston 63, 64, as well as a spool 65, -activated by means of a crank, which is offset by 1801 with respect to the crank of the motor. piston 63, 64. The cylinder 71 serves as a pump with the piston 611. The spool 65 is in the form of a hollow cylinder; it has a lumen 66 (fig. 11), but is closed at the top and at the bottom.
In the position of the piston 63, 64 and of the slide 65 of FIG. 10, the piston 64 delivers the mixture through the ports 67, 68,. Into the drawer space 65. The opening 66, provided in the drawer 65, connects, in the highest position of the drawer 65, the carburetor. by the lumen 6'7 to the pump body 71, since the light 66 corresponds to the lumen 67. At the same time, the lumen 68 is placed in front of the conduit 69, so that the -compressed mixture, located in drawer 65, goes to the combustion space; of the cylinder 70.
The slots in the drawer 65 and in the cylinder 70 are arranged so that the passage of the mixture from the drawer 65 to the combustion space has already been completed before the slot 66 arrives opposite the duct 67. The operation of this engine is the following: In the lowest position of the differential piston 63, 64, the mixture is sucked from the carburetor through the conduit 6 (i and the .light 67. On the rise worse your differential, the mixture is compressed and, in the highest position of the piston, the mixture is discharged into the drawer 65 through the ports 67, 68.
The mixture remains in this drawer until the piston 63, 64 has almost reached its lowest position, and the contents of the pressurized mixture pass from the drawer 65 to the combustion space. The mixture is sucked in as described above in the lowest position of the piston. When piston 63, 64 rises, the mixture is compressed in the combustion space and ignition takes place in neutral. The piston is then driven down and provides work.
In the engine shown in fig. 12, a piston 72 is provided in a cylinder 77. The crank case 70 is closed. A conduit 74 connects the housing 70 to a slide 78, which is in the form of a hollow cylinder. The drawer has a conduit 66 which, in the highest position of the piston, connects the carburetor to the crankcase 70. In the drawer 78, there are slots 80, 81, which apply to slots 75 and 76, when the drawer 78 par comes to the lowest position.
The operation of the. engine is as follows: In the highest position of the piston, a vacuum exists in the crank housing 70. and the mixture is sucked through the conduits 66 and 74. When the piston 72 descends, the mixture is compressed and, - in the lower neutral position of the piston 72, the mixture is re-trodden through the duct 74, the ports 75, 80 and 81, 76, to the combustion space. When the piston rises, the mixture is compressed and -is ignited in neutral. The piston is driven down and provides work.
