Lampe it souder.
Soldering lamp. This invention relates to a blowlamp, characterized in that it comprises a handle the upper part of which is placed above the adjustment knob so that the operator can, with one hand, hold the handle and operate the correct tone, a deflector cap placed above and near the body of the burner allowing better use of the heat developed by the combustion of the ignition liquid, the high temperature acquired in this way by the body of the burner being transmitted to the liquid contained in the tank by a metal wick which is a good conductor of heat.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the assembly of a blowlamp; Fig_ 2 is a partial vertical section of the fuel liquid tank showing the recovery cap and the metal wick lique; Fig. 3 shows, also in section, a lamp without a cap, as well as the schematic hot gas market.
As shown in fig. 1, the upper support 1 of the handle 2 passes over the adjustment button 3. Thanks to this arrangement, the operator can conveniently, with one hand, hold the handle 2 and operate the adjustment button 3 .
This arrangement also makes it possible to give the general axis C D of the burner all the desirable inclinations with respect to the vertical axis X Y of the lamp.
In welding lamps, the rise of the combustible liquid to be vaporized is obtained by passing this liquid through a wick of textile material which deteriorates rapidly, which is avoided by the use of a metal wick constituted as shown in fig. 2.
This wick 4 is obtained by constituting a bundle of very fine wires of copper, brass or other metal, arranged in a tube 5. The shape, dimensions of the wires and their arrangement are chosen such that the bent nomene of capillarity is obtained and the division of the liquid is satisfactory.
A wick thus constituted and sufficiently long opposes any flashback: On the other hand, such a wick does not deteriorate or become unusable by the rise in temperature to which the parts of the lamp are subjected. when the combustible liquid is about to be exhausted.
The deflector cap 6 is composed of a metal plate of suitable shapes and dimensions, so that the hot gases from the combustion of the ignition fluid contained in the cup 7 encounter an obstacle to their upward movement. and are returned, forming soft reeds, around part 8 of the body of the burner (fig. 2).
It is easy to see that this part 8 (FIG. 3) is heated more strongly under these conditions than in the absence of the cap as shown in FIG. 3, because, in this case, the gases rise very high away from the body of the burner without producing, so to speak, any useful effect.
The part 8 of the burner body, strongly heated in the arrangement with the recovery cap, transmits heat to the metal wick 4, which is a good conductor, which, in turn, will heat the liquid 9 contained in the lamp reservoir. There is thus obtained a rapid rise in the temperature of the liquid and, consequently, a pressure which allows the ignition of the blowlamp under excellent conditions.
