Description

Device on motor vehicles with explosion engines to save fuel and avoid soot formation in the engine cylinders. The invention relates to a device on motor vehicles with explosion engines to save fuel and to avoid soot formation in the Mo torzylindern, in which the inlet line of the engine is connected to a container connected to the outside air with a Abdampfablei device of the water cooler, so When working, water vapor mixed with air flows into the inlet line, where both merge with the charge. Attempts with such a device have led to a fuel saving of 25 to 40% with the addition of steam and air; Furthermore, the explosive force of the mixture was increased and the formation of soot in the engine cylinders was avoided.

The accompanying drawing schematically illustrates an embodiment of the subject invention He.

The carburettor, not shown, is connected to the inlet line a of the engine. The water cooler b has an exhaust steam discharge line c for the exhaust steam leaving the hot water flowing through the cooler, which line carries a container e by means of two brackets d, the bottom of which is provided with a tube f opening into the open air. From the exhaust line c a connecting pipe g goes into the interior of the Behäl age e and is provided there with many small holes o. The upper part of the container e communicates through the nozzle h and through a flexible hose i with a nozzle k on the inlet line a, which is equipped with a regulating valve m. This regulating valve can be adjusted from the driver's seat.

When the engine is working, water vapor flows out of the exhaust gas discharge line c through the holes o of the connecting pipe g into the container e, where it mixes with air flowing in through the pipe f. Both go to the engine inlet line a, where they unite with the charge mixture and impregnate it with water vapor, which has the consequence that a smaller amount of fuel is required with the same power requirement, and that with the help of the water vapor the combustion of the mixture without noticeable - Lent soot formation is accomplished. The amount of steam air added depends on the setting of the regulating tap m. Excess water vapor in the container e can condense in it and run off through the tube f.
