Description

  

  Compresseur de fluide élastique avec moteur de commande<B>à</B> vapeur.    La présente invention se rapporte<B>à</B> un  compresseur de fluide élastique avec moteur  de commande<B>à</B> vapeur, comportant au moins  un cylindre de compression avec chemise<B>de</B>  refroidissement permettant de le refroidir au  moyen<B>de</B> vapeur     d'écfiappement    venant du  moteur de commande du compresseur.

   Elle  présente la particularité que l'intérieur de la  chemise de refroidissement du cylindre de  compression est pourvu d'une     cloison-guide,     formant chicane, établie de manière<B>à</B>     dîriger     la vapeur d'échappement dans la chemise de  refroidissement de     facon   <B>à</B> la faire passer  sur toutes les parties de la paroi du cylindre  et<B>à</B> empêcher ainsi la formation de poches       d air.     



  Le dessin ci-joint représente,<B>à</B> titre  d'exemple,     une    forme d'exécution de l'objet  de l'invention, telle qu'elle s'emploie, par  exemple, sur les locomotives pour alimenter  les freins     Westinghouse    en air comprimé.

  Le cylindre de compression<B>à</B> haute pres  sion 4 est pourvu d'une chemise de refroidis  sement<B>11</B> reliée<B>à</B> un     eonduit    12 allant<B>à</B>  l'orifice d'échappement de vapeur<B>13</B> du com  presseur. Cette chemise de refroidissement<B>Il</B>  est destinée<B>à</B> être parcourue par de la va  peur d'échappement et renferme une     cloison-          guide,    formant chicane, 14, s'étendant en  forme d'hélice autour de la paroi du cylindre      de compression 4, cette     cloison-guide    étant  venue de fonte avec la paroi dudit cylindre  et avec sa chemise de refroidissement et étant  disposée pour diriger la vapeur d'échappement  autour de la paroi dudit cylindre, comme  indiqué par les flèches,

   de façon<B>à la</B> faire  passer sur toutes les parties de cette paroi,  cette vapeur d'échappement se déchargeant  par     Forifice    d'échappement<B>15</B> prévu<B>à</B> l'ex  trémité inférieure du cylindre de compression  4. La vapeur d'échappement franchissant  ainsi toutes les parties de la paroi du cylindre  de compression, il ne se forme pas de poches  d'air en contact avec cette paroi, ce qui  permet d'utiliser la totalité de la surface de  la paroi du cylindre de compression pour  des buts de refroidissement.
