Abstract

Se propone un proceso para producir una suspensión acuosa de carbonato de calcio precipitado que comprende los pasos de: i) proporcionar un material que contiene óxido de calcio, ii) proporcionar por lo menos un polímero soluble en agua con un peso molecular Pm del orden de 200 a 6500 g/mol, en donde el por lo menos un polímero tiene la estructura química de la fórmula (I) en donde n, m, y p son enteros y por lo menos uno de n, m o p es mayor que cero y n+m+p es menor que o igual a 70, R1 es H o CH3, R2 es H o CH3 R3 es -C(=O)-O-R4 ó -C(=O)-NH-R4, en donde R4 es un grupo alquilo de C1 a C20, un grupo cicloalquilo de C2 a C20 y/o un grupo arilo de C6 a C30, substituido opcionalmente con uno o más grupos sulfonato, y donde el grupo cicloalquilo y/o el grupo arilo comprenden uno o varios anillos unidos entre sí, R5 es H o CH3, R6 es H o CH3, y X es H y/o M, en donde M es Na, K, Li, Mg, y/o Ca, y en donde las unidades estructurales están dispuestas al azar, con regularidad y/o en bloques, iii) proporcionar por lo menos un aditivo para apagado, en donde el por lo menos un aditivo para apagado es elegido entre el grupo constituido por ácidos orgánicos, sales de ácidos orgánicos, alcoholes de azúcares, monosacáridos, disacáridos, polisacáridos, gluconatos, fosfonatos, lignosulfonatos, y mezclas de los mismos, iv) preparar una lechada de cal mezclando agua, el material que contiene óxido de calcio del paso i), el por lo menos un polímero del paso ii), y el por lo menos un aditivo para apagado del paso iii), en donde el material que contiene óxido de calcio y el agua son mezclados en una proporción en peso desde 1:1 hasta 1:12, y v) carbonatar la lechada de cal obtenida del paso iv) para formar una suspensión acuosa de carbonato de calcio precipitado.
