Abstract
Un procedimiento para tratar biomasa comprende la provisión de un material que contiene una cantidad de humedad residual. El material se calienta hasta una temperatura de torrefacción en una atmósfera con bajo contenido de oxígeno en el reactor de torrefacción, convirtiéndose el material en un material torrefacto. El material con la humedad residual contenida se seca de manera esencialmente completa en una cámara de secado mediante la evaporación de la humedad residual. El reactor de torrefacción comprende una cámara de torrefacción, en la que se lleva a cabo esencialmente la torrefacción de este material secado. El material se transporta a través del reactor de torrefacción en una dirección de transporte. El secado del material en la cámara de secado se lleva a cabo introduciendo en la misma un gas para secado caliente que fluye a través de la cámara de secado en una corriente paralela al material . La torrefacción del material en la cámara de torrefacción del reactor de torrefacción se lleva a cabo introduciendo en la misma un gas para torrefacción caliente que fluye a través de la cámara de torrefacción del reactor de torrefacción en contracorriente con el material.
