Den foreliggende opfindelse angår en flerlags embal-lagefolie med høj vand- og gaspermeabilitet, som er egnet til emballering af levnedsmiddelprodukter, især hvidskim-melost.
5 Ved fremstillingen af visse ostetyper, især hvidskim- meloste, f.eks. camembert, skal osten undergå modnings- og overflade-skimmelvækst-færdiggørelsesprocesser, som er ret langvarige processer. Derfor får sådanne processer lov at forløbe efter fremstillingen og pakningen af osten under 10 dens oplagring, før den bringes på markedet.
Under modningen og overfladeskimmelvæksten absorberer osten oxygen fra omgivelserne og udvikler fugtighed og gasser, især carbondioxid. Materialet, hvori osten er pakket, skal derfor have en vis permeabilitet for sådan fugtighed 15 og gasser, således at der muliggøres en kontrolleret absorption og fjernelse af disse, hvorved der kan foregå en ønskelig færdiggørelsesproces i osten.
De emballagematerialer, der har været anvendt indtil nu til opfyldelse af de ovennævnte krav, har hovedsagelig 20 været ikke-transparente laminater af olieret papir med forskellige yderligere lag, såsom papir, aluminiumpapir, propy-len, cellofan osv. Den nødvendige permeabilitet er blevet tilvejebragt ved, at sådanne pakningsmaterialer blot er blevet foldet løst omkring osten, således at fugtighed og 25 gasser har mulighed for at undslippe via de frie rum mellem folderne. Alternativt har de kendte konventionelle pakningsmaterialer været forsynet med små huller, således at der tilvejebringes en porøsitet, der gør det muligt for pakningen at "ånde”.
30 Sådanne kendte emballagelaminater har ulemper, idet de ikke garanterer en kontrolleret fugtigheds- og gasudvikling, eller fordi de på grund af deres hovedsagelig ikke-transparente karakter har været udsat for fingerering af kunder, som har forsøgt at kontrollere indholdet, dette 35 især i supermarkeder.
Det er formålet med den foreliggende opfindelse at 2 DK 170612 B1 tilvejebringe en ny type af emballagefolie med høj permeabilitet, der er egnet til emballering af levnedsmiddelprodukter, især ost, herunder hvidskimmeloste.
Det er tillige formålet med opfindelsen at tilveje-5 bringe en emballagefolie af den ovennævnte type, der muliggør en forbedret afsluttende modnings- og skimmelvækstproces i 4 osten, som kan medføre en forlænget holdbarhed af denne, og som er transparent og varmeforseglelig og derfor er sikker mod fingerering.
10 Det har vist sig, at dette opnås med en flerlagsem ballagef olie med høj permeabilitet, der er ejendommelig ved at den består af a) to lag polymerharpiks valgt blandt 1) polyethylen med meget lav densitet med et comono- 15 merindhold på 10-22 vægt-%, baseret på polyethy- lenen med meget lav densitet, hvor comonomeren er valgt blandt C4-, Cg- og C8-a-n-olefiner, 2) polybutylen, 3) poly-4-methyl-penten-l, 20 4) polyethylenterephthalatglycol, 5) polyether, 6) polyurethaner og 7) elastomere copolyestere, 8) ethylen-vinylacetat-copolymer, og 25 b) et tredje lag anbragt mellem de to lag og bestående af butadien-styren-copolymer med et styrenindhold på 60-80 vægt-% af copolymeren, samt eventuelt tillige et eller to mellemlag mellem kernelaget og de ydre lag, hvilke eventuelle mellemlag er valgt blandt 30 ethylen-vinylacetat-copolymere med et vinylacetat- indhold på 8-28 vægtprocent, copolymere af lineært polyethylen med meget lav densitet (VLDPE) indeholdende en comonomer valgt blandt C4-, Cg- og Cg-a-n-olefiner i en mængde på 10-22 vægtprocent af VLDPE, * 35 polybutylen, poly-4-methyl-l-penten, polyethylen terephthalatglycol, polyether-polyurethaner, elas- 3 DK 170612 B1 tomere polyestere, klæbende modificerede EVA-harpikser og ionomere harpikser.
Kernelaget af butadien-styren-copolymer (BDS) i laminatfolien ifølge opfindelsen har høj vanddamppermeabilitet, 5 der fordelagtigt er fra 100 til 400 g/m2 pr. dag, som målt ifølge ASTM E-96-66 eller F-372-73. Permeabilitetsværdier, som er væsentlig højere end den ovenfor anførte øvre grænse, er uheldige, idet de kan medføre en for tør ost med ringe kvalitet. På den anden side er permeabilitetsværdier under 10 den ovenfor anførte nedre grænse uheldige, idet de kan medføre uønsket vækst af bakterier og gærarter på ostens overflade.
Desuden giver BDS-kernelaget, der fortrinsvis har en tykkelse på 5-30 Mm, emballagefolien en høj stivhed, der er 15 nødvendig for at sikre forarbejdelighed og tilstrækkelig modstandsdygtighed af emballagen under håndtering og transport.
Der kan f.eks. anvendes en BDS-copolymer, der kan fås fra Phillips Petroleum Co. (USA) som "KR-05"-harpiks 20 og har et smelteflydningsindeks (MFI) på 0,5-10.
De ydre lag af laminatet ifølge opfindelsen har som hovedfunktion at gøre det muligt at forsegle laminatet uden at nedsætte permeabiliteten af det samlede laminat. For ikke at forringe det samlede laminats gaspermeabilitet mærk-25 bart er sådanne overfladelag fremstillet af et materiale, der har en højere gaspermeabilitet end kernelaget. Medens polyethylen eller polypropylen ikke opfylder detter per-meabilitetskrav, kan de ydre lag vælges blandt forseglelige polyolefiner med høj permeabilitet som polybutylen og højere 30 polyolefiner. Der foretrækkes imidlertid ydre forseglingslag af ethylen-vinylacetat-copolymere (EVA) med et vinylacetat-indhold på 8-28 vægtprocent af EVA og en MFI-værdi på 0,5-7, og ethylen-copolymere, der er kendt som lineær polyethy-lener med meget lav densitet (VLDPE) som beskrevet i Plastics 35 Technology, september 1984, side 113, og oktober 1984, side 13 samt i en firmabrochure, der er publiceret i 1984 af DSM
4 DK 170612 B1 i Holland med titlen "Stamilex PE". Ca. 10-20 vægtprocent af et sådant VLDPE udgøres af en olefin-comonomer, der fortrinsvis er valgt blandt C4-, C6- og Cg-a-n-olefiner, der har en MFI-værdi på 0,5-8,0.
5 Foruden de ovennævnte foretrukne ydre lag kan disse også vælges blandt polybutylen og copolymere deraf, poly--4-methyl-l-penten, polyethylenterephthalatglycol (PETG), po-lyether-polyurethaner og elastomer copolyester, såsom "ECDEL 9967", der forhandles af Eastman Kodak Co.
10 De ovennævnte forseglingslag ændrer ikke den høje vanddamp- og gaspermeabilitet af kernelaget mærkbart, samtidig med at de også, især for VLDPE's vedkommende, giver en ønskelig modstandsdygtighed mod beskadigelse (modstandsdygtighed mod punktering, oprivning osv.).
15 Laminatet ifølge opfindelsen kan omfatte mere end de nævnte tre kritiske lag. Det kan f.eks. omfatte op til fem lag, dvs. det kan omfatte et eller to yderligere mellemlag, der kan være fremstillet af de samme copolymere, der danner de ydre lag, eller alternativt af andre, også fugtighedsper-20 meable polymere, såsom klæbestofharpikser, f.eks. den modificerede EVA-harpiks, der forhandles af DuPont under navnet "Bynel", eller ionomere harpikser, såsom den modificerede ethylen-methacrylsyre, der forhandles af DuPont under navnet "Surlyn".
25 Laminatstrukturen ifølge opfindelsen kan fremstilles ved en varmblæsnings-coekstruderingsproces ved hjælp af et flerlags cirkulært mundstykke eller ved vandbads-coekstru-dering og orientering, der eventuelt også kan gøre laminatet varmekrympeligt til særlige anvendelser, hvor en sådan egen-30 skab er nødvendig. Overfladelagene kan tilføjes med en ma-sterbatch indeholdende antiblokerings- og slipmidler eller andre gængse fremstillings- eller håndteringshjælpestoffer.
Laminatstrukturen ifølge opfindelsen anvendes ved at >· folde den omkring levnedsmiddelproduktet, især en hvidskim-35 melost, og lukke pakningen ved forsegling af laminatfolien. Sidstnævnte kan trimme-, varme- eller "bunch"-forsegles.
Stivheden af folien, der tilvejebringes af BDS-kernelaget, gør det muligt at anvende den på automatiske pakningsma skiner.

Det fremgår af den foregående beskrivelse og eksemplerne på laminatfolien ifølge opfindelsen, at den er en hidtil ukendt type emballagefolie, der kombinerer transpa-rens, forseglelighed, høj fugtigheds- og gaspermeabilitet 5 og høj stivhed. Permeabiliteten, som udvises i selv forseglet tilstand, garanterer en levnedsmiddelpakning, der er mod- 5 standsdygtig mod fingerering, hvilket er en meget ønskelig egenskab ud fra et hygiejnisk synspunkt. Den iboende permeabilitet med kontrolleret størrelse, som sikres af naturen 10 af materialerne, der udgør laminatet ifølge opfindelsen, muliggør en forbedret modning og en korrekt overfladevækst af skimmel, hvilket medfører en forlænget holdbarhed af det pakkede levnedsmiddel.
Claims (5)
1. Flerlagsemballagefolie roed høj permeabilitet til emballering af fugtigheds- og gasudviklende eller -adsor-berende levnedsmiddelprodukter, især hvidskimmelost, k e n-5 detegnet ved at den består af a) to lag polymerharpiks valgt blandt 1. polyethylen med meget lav densitet med et comono-merindhold på 10-22 vægt-%, baseret på polyethy-lenen med meget lav densitet, hvor comonomeren er 10 valgt blandt C4-, C6- og Cg-a-n-olefiner, 2. polybutylen, 3. poly-4-methyl-penten-l, 4. polyethylenterephthalatglycol, 5. polyether, 15 6) polyurethaner og 7. elastomere copolyestere, 8. ethylen-vinylacetat-copolymer, og b) et tredje lag anbragt mellem de to lag og bestående af butadien-styren-copolymer med et styrenindhold på 20 60-80 vægt-% af copolymeren, samt eventuelt tillige et eller to mellemlag mellem kernelaget og de ydre lag, hvilke eventuelle mellemlag er valgt blandt ethylen-vinylacetat-copolymere med et vinylacetat-indhold på 8-28 vægtprocent, copolymere af lineært 25 polyethylen med meget lav densitet (VLDPE) indehol dende en comonomer valgt blandt C4-, Cg- og Cg-a-n-olefiner i en mængde på 10-22 vægtprocent af VLDPE, polybutylen, poly-4-methyl-l-penten, polyethylenterephthalatglycol, polyether-polyurethaner, elas-30 tomere polyestere, klæbende modificerede EVA-harpikser og ionomere harpikser.
2. Flerlagsfolie ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at den omfatter ydre lag af de nævnte EVA-copoly-mere.
3. Flerlagsfolie ifølge krav 1 eller 2, kende tegnet ved, at den omfatter ydre lag af de nævnte DK 170612 B1 IS VLDPE-copolymere med en comonomer valgt blandt C4-, Cg- og Cg-a-n-olefiner.
4. Anvendelse af en emballagefolie ifølge et af kravene 1-3 til forseglet emballering af et fugtigheds- og 5 gasudviklende eller -adsorberende levnedsmiddelprodukt.
