Claims (4)

1. Fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af et transparent keramisk materiale, hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter: et første trin (1) til formaling og blanding af kildepulvere herunder (a) terbiumoxid, (b) mindst én oxid valgt blandt yttriumoxid, scandiumoxid og et sjældent jordartoxid af lanthanid-gruppen, og (c) et sintringsmiddel, som ikke forårsager anden heterofase-udfældning end kubisk, i krystalstrukturen af et terbiumoxid baseret keramisk materiale, hvilke kildepulverne (a) og (b) har samme gennemsnitlige primære partikelstørrelse på 30 til 2000 nm, et andet trin (2) til formning af pulverblandingen til dannelse af en grøn kompakt masse og kalcinering af den grønne kompakte masse ved 400 til 1000 °C i en oxiderende atmosfære for at danne et kalcineret legeme eller kalcinere pulverblandingen ved 400 til 1000 °C i en oxiderende atmosfære og forme pulverblandingen til dannelse af et kalcineret legeme, et tredje trin (3) til brænding af det kalcinerede legeme ved 1.400 til 1.700 °C i en ikke-oxiderende atmosfære for at danne et brændt legeme, og et fjerde trin (4) til trykbrænding af det brændte legeme ved 1.400 til 1.800 °C under et tryk på 19 til 196 MPa for at danne et trykbrændt legeme.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, yderligere omfattende trinnet at anløbe det trykbrændte legeme ved 1500 til 2000 °C i en oxygenfri atmosfære.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 eller 2, hvor sintringsmidlet er en oxid, fluorid eller nitrid af et grundstof valgt blandt titan, zirconium, hafnium og calcium.
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1 til 3, hvor terbiumoxid (kemisk formel: Tb203) (a) og oxiden (b) er tilvejebragt således, at de samlet udgør 100 mol% i molfraktion, terbiumoxid (a) er 40 til 60 mol%, idet resten er oxiden (b).
