Abstract
El proceso de lixiviación combinada comprende un proceso de disolución de los constituyentes solubles de una mena a través de la ejecución combinada de dos o más etapas de lixiviación en serie, siendo que la primera etapa consiste en la lixiviación atmosférica (AL) y la segunda etapa consiste en la lixiviación ácida a alta presión (HPAL). Este proceso combinado tiene lugar cuando la fracción intermediaria (0,075-0,5 mm) (1) se somete a una lixiviación atmosférica (AL), resultando un efluente (3) con alta concentración de hierro y aluminio disueltos y alta acidez residual. Dicho efluente (3) se alimenta en la siguiente etapa de lixiviación ácida a alta presión (HPAL) de la fracción fina (<0,075mm) permitiendo el aprovechamiento de la acidez libre y la regeneración de ácido sulfúrico por la precipitación de hierro y aluminio en una reacción de hidrólisis, lo que resulta en una considerable reducción en la adición de ácido sulfúrico.
