Definitions

  • the invention relates to a display of a piece of jewelry, such as a wristwatch, bracelet, ring, necklace, intended to support this piece in a raised position on a flat surface, and comprising a strip intended to be applied against the internal face of the part to be presented in the desired position of the latter and so as to serve as a support, this strip being secured to a plate capable of receiving indications relating to the part presented and serving as a support for holding the part presented in the desired raised position.
  • a display of this type, intended for a wristwatch, is known from the publication FR-A-910 300.
  • the band of this known display is curved in the form of an open loop and it is made of an elastic material, in particular steel .
  • the elasticity of this strip serves above all to allow pinching a part of the part to be presented between two juxtaposed zones of the strip.
  • this known display is relatively rigid and only admits slight deformations, which has the consequence that generally different dimensions are required for men's watches and for ladies' watches. Due to the shape of this known display, its manufacture is relatively complicated. The storage of loop-shaped displays takes up a lot of space and their shipment requires the making of large packages.
  • the object of the invention is to produce a display of the aforementioned type which avoids these drawbacks, the nature of its constituent parts making it easy to manufacture, which lends itself to the presentation of different pieces, which can, at rest, be stacked in large numbers in a reduced volume, which simplifies its storage and shipping and whose strip can be obtained by simply cutting a ribbon of material from a roll.
  • the display according to the invention is produced, delivered and stored flat and it is only when it is used that it is shaped to underpin the part to be presented.
  • the flexibility of its band makes it possible to use the same display to present pieces of very different dimensions, for example both for men's watches and for ladies' watches.
  • the embodiments defined by claim 2 are excessively simple.
  • the flexible strip can, in fact, have the same width from one end to the other, because its elasticity, which tends to bring it flat, is generally sufficient to support the part to be presented.
  • the embodiments defined by claim 4 are particularly suitable for collars.
  • a category of jewelry pieces, for which the embodiments defined by claim 7 are intended, consists of rings.
  • the display according to the first embodiment is intended for necklaces. It is composed of a plate 1, coming from manufacture with a strip 2. In the natural state, the strip 2 is rectilinear. This strip and the plate 1 are made of a material such that the strip 2 is flexible and has good elasticity. Materials suitable for this purpose are polystyrene or polypropylene as well as polyvinyl chloride, for example.
  • the plate 1 has an opening 3, large enough for the collar 4 to be presented to pass through this opening 3 before being closed.
  • the passage of the collar 4 through the opening 3 is carried out so that after the closure of the collar 4, the plate 1 is on the outside of the collar and the strip 2 extends towards the interior thereof. .
  • This strip 2 is then applied against the internal face (FIG. 1) of the collar 4, that is to say against its face resting on the body of the wearer. Thanks to the elasticity of the band 2, the collar 4 is subtended by this band.
  • the latter is curved between its lateral edges over its entire length, so that its face facing outward is concave, as shown in FIG. 2.
  • the lateral edges of this strip 2 are provided with pins 5 from distance to distance.
  • the band 2 is chosen to be a little longer, so that it is wound on itself inside this collar.
  • the collar 4 and its display unit 1, 2 can then be erected in a vertical plane on a display shelf (not shown), so that the lower edge of the plate 1 and the lower part of the collar 4 rest on this shelf.
  • the support in these two places ensures the stability of the assembly in the plane of the longitudinal axis of the collar 4 and the plate 1 ensures the stability of this assembly in a perpendicular plane.
  • Displays of the type mentioned at the beginning, which are most frequently used, are intended for wristwatches, like that according to the second embodiment (Fig. 3).
  • This display differs from that of the first embodiment only by the length of the strip 2, adapted to that of the bracelets, and by the fact that the opening of its plate 1, instead of being constituted by a hole, is an elongated slot.
  • This can be provided in the middle of the width of the plate 1, in order to allow passage to one of the strands of the bracelet, still open.
  • a slot 6, extending to one of the side edges of the wafer 1, may however also be provided in the latter. The closed bracelet can then be slid into this slot.
  • the third embodiment (Fig. 4) is distinguished from the previous one by the fact that it is arranged so as to allow the use of known plates, bearing the specifications of the part presented.
  • the lower edge 7 of the plate 1a of the display unit according to the invention is folded up. It thus forms a hook in which the handle 8 of the known plate 9 can be frictionally engaged.
  • the plate 1a could be provided with corresponding members, different from those described.
  • the plate 1a could even be deleted and the plate 9 glued directly to the end of the strip 2.
  • the easel 10 overcomes this drawback.
  • the easel 10 is slidably mounted on the strip 2 of the display. It comprises two oblique sides 11, on either side of a face 12, which is pressed against the external surface of the strip 2 by two lugs 13, gripping the opposite edges of the strip 2.
  • the easel 10 is placed on the along this strip so as to raise the lower part of the bracelet of the piece presented and to compensate in this way the elevation of the plate 1a of the display unit according to the invention, produced by the plate 9.
  • the fourth embodiment is intended for rings.
  • the plate 1b of the display has a slot 14 extending to one of its lateral edges, to allow a ring 15 to slide therein.
  • the strip 2a of this display it naturally has a width and above all a length adapted to the dimensions of the rings.
  • a series of displays 1, 2 can, in fact, be cut from a strip 16, stored in a roll and introduced into an automatic cutting press.
  • decorative ribbons 17 of fabric, leather or plastic material will be glued on the two edges of the strip 16.
  • gluing such ribbons on the two faces of the strip 16 it is even possible to allow the use of the two faces of the displays according to the invention, each of these displays can then be used to present two different pieces.
  • the specifications of the part presented can be formed by decal on the ribbons 17. Depending on the case, it would naturally also be possible to coat the strips 2 with a decorative ribbon.
  • the wafer secured to the strip of the display unit according to the invention is located at the end of this strip. It can just as easily be connected to it laterally- ment, as in the fifth embodiment (Fig. 7 to 9).
  • the strip 18 has come from manufacture with an arm 19, extending perpendicular to the strip 18, from a point on one of its lateral edges.
  • the wafer 20 itself came from manufacture with the arm 19. As a variant, it could also be glued to the end of the arm 19, as shown in phantom in FIG. 9.
  • the band 18 is intended to be wound on itself inside the closed strap of a watch (Fig. 7 and 8).
  • the displays according to this embodiment hold the watch slightly raised, but in a rather lying position.
  • the space available for the indications relating to the piece presented is not limited to the dimensions that the support function of the strip of the display rack according to the invention imposes on the plates of the five embodiments described above.
  • the sixth embodiment shows that the plate 21, which supports the strip 2 can, obviously without complication, be cut with a frame 22, capable of receiving a large number of indications.
  • the display according to the invention is not only used to support pieces of jewelry forming a closed loop.
  • the display according to the seventh embodiment (Fig. 11 to 13) allows to display a watch with the extended strap. It comprises a first strip 23 which, at rest, is rectilinear, as in the previous embodiments. On its face opposite to that applied against the watch strap, the band 23 has a series of equidistant pins 24, as shown by the arrows a-a. A second strip 25, having a series of holes 26, is attached to the strip 23 by engagement of the pins 24 in the holes 26.
  • the holes 26 are not equidistant. Where the strip 23 must be convex under the bracelet to be supported, the distances c, c, indicated by the arrows bb, between the holes 26 are less than those d, d between the pins 24, and where the strip 23 must be concave under the bracelet, the distance c, c between the holes 26 are slightly larger than d, d between the 'studs 24.
  • the plate 1 (1a, 1b, 20, 21) of the display unit according to the invention could have come from manufacture with a stud projecting from the one of its side edges, on which a tubular element bearing the price of the part presented could be slipped.
  • the same wafer could be secured, by cutting into a piece or by gluing, to more than one strip.
  • Two bands could for example be secured to the same plate and extend parallel or perpendicular to each other to present two paired watches, either one next to the other or one in an upright position and the other, in a lying position.
