Abstract

Mit Hilfe des Verfahrens wird eine Ware mit einer Folie umwickelt. Die Folie wird von einer Vorratsrolle abgespult und über mindestens eine Umlenkvorrichtung der Ware zugeführt. Die Ware beaufschlagt die Folie mit einer diese von der Vorratsrolle abspulenden und sie dehnenden Kraft. In einem Bereich zwischen der Vorratsrolle und der Umlenkvorrichtung wird die Folie vorgedehnt und in einem Bereich zwischen der Umlenkvorrichtung und der Ware nachgedehnt. Sowohl die Vorratsrolle als auch die Umlenkvorrichtung können gebremst werden. Die Ware wird bezüglich einer sich im wesentlichen senkrecht zu einer Transportrichtung der Folie erstreckenden Drehachse rotatorisch angetrieben.
Die Vorrichtung zum Umwickeln der Ware mit einer Folie weist eine die Folie bevorratende Vorratsrolle und mindestens eine rotationsfähig gelagerte Umlenkvorrichtung auf. Im Bereich der Vorratsrolle ist eine Vorratsrollenbremse und im Bereich der Umlenkvorrichtung eine Umlenkvorrichtungsbremse angeordnet.
