Definitions

  • the invention relates to a switching device in a system of switching devices which can be coupled to switching or auxiliary switching or signal switching devices to be fitted, the switching device being part of a coupling device in the case of a roller-shaped manual control element with a switching handle on the roller body, which is covered in the housing, on a receiving side of the roller body , in particular according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a couplable switching device is known (US-A-2 824 191).
  • circuit breakers have a switch handle on a roller body, which can be rigidly coupled in the manner of tongue and groove to a circuit breaker to be fitted, by the spring of a roller body engaging in the groove of the roller body of the device to be installed.
  • Couplable switching devices are on the market in a wide variety of designs.
  • a multi-pole switch is constructed from single-pole circuit breakers in that the actuating handles are connected to one another by a rail-like bridge.
  • the handles In order to be able to compensate for tolerances during assembly, the handles have central recesses on their end faces, into which knobs engage with play in the longitudinal direction of the bridge. Sometimes one would like to avoid such specially adapted bridge elements, which have to be carried separately for assembly.
  • the invention has for its object to develop an improved system of switching devices without coupling elements to be provided.
  • the solution of the above object is according to the invention in a switching device according to claim 1.
  • the claw-like coupling element is designed in cooperation with a pin-like coupling element so that with a shorter pin-like coupling element there is only one coupling in a driving direction and with a longer peg-like coupling element, coupling takes place in both directions.
  • An application of older seniority (Art. 54 (3) EPC) relates to the coupling of multi-pole switches and auxiliary switches via the release lever or ratchet lever and not via the manual controls (EP-A-0 291 374).
  • EPC electronic circuit breakers
  • a long coupling of the manual control elements for all movements of a manual control element as a result of self-triggering and manual switching can be achieved with a long pin-shaped coupling element which engages deeply in the claw-shaped coupling element.
  • Such a coupling is desirable, for example, between a circuit breaker and an auxiliary switch to be fitted. If the peg-shaped coupling element of the switchgear to be installed is only so short that the claw-shaped coupling element of a circuit breaker is provided with a second, shorter penetration depth only forms a claw tooth in the switch-on direction, the switchgear to be attached remains unaffected when switched off manually. As a result, conditions can easily be met, such as are required between signal switches and circuit breakers of the type of the error signal switch.
  • the coupling device consists of a first coupling element, selected from a pair - functionally - from a claw-like coupling element and from a pin-like coupling element of a switching device and a second coupling element of a switching device to be fitted, the second element of the pair, which was not selected at first.
  • the signal switch can only emit a signal if the circuit breaker has triggered in self-triggering.
  • a separate trip coupling ensures that the signal switch is only switched off as intended in the event of an overload, be it overcurrent or a short circuit on the miniature circuit breaker.
  • the claw-like coupling element is movably arranged on the roller body behind a housing slot, the peg-like coupling element being arranged in a housing slot on the outside and being able to cooperate with the claw-like coupling element of a device to be attached by engaging in it.
  • the switching device 1 according to FIG. 1 has a roller-shaped manual control element 2, the switching handle 3 of which protrudes beyond the housing.
  • a claw-shaped coupling element 4 is arranged on the roller body in the direction of the switching axis on a receiving side behind the plane of the drawing. This is movable behind a housing slot 5 with its receptacle.
  • a peg-shaped coupling element 6 according to FIG. 3 is arranged in a housing slot on an outside. The peg-shaped coupling element engages deeply in the claw-shaped coupling element 4.
  • the pin-shaped coupling element 6 engages between the dog teeth 7 and 8 in the version 8.1.
  • the peg-shaped coupling element 6 is only available in a short version 6.2, it will only be found in this engagement depth the flank of a single claw tooth 8.2, but no claw tooth on its other side.
  • a coupling is achieved for a long peg-shaped coupling element 6.1, as is desired for auxiliary switches, and for a short peg-shaped coupling element 6.2, as is desired for signal switches. 1, both auxiliary switches and signal switches can be attached without additional coupling elements for the manual control element.
