Definitions
- the present invention is in the field of fiber reactive dyes.
- Alkaline eliminable substituents X are, for example, halogen atoms, such as the bromine atom and chlorine atom, ester groups of organic carboxylic and sulfonic acids, such as an alkanoyloxy radical of 2 to 5 carbon atoms, for example the acetyloxy group, or a sulfobenzoyloxy, benzoyloxy, phenylsulfonyloxy or toluylsulfonyloxy radical , furthermore, for example, the acidic ester groups of phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid and thiosulfuric acid (phosphato or sulfato or thiosulfato groups), as well as dialkylamino groups with alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms each, such as the dimethylamino and diethylamino group.
- halogen atoms such as the bromine atom and chlorine atom
- ester groups of organic carboxylic and sulfonic acids such
- Y is preferably the vinyl group and in particular the ⁇ -sulfatoethyl group.
- Sulfo groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -SO3M
- carboxy groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -COOM
- sulfato groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -OSO3M
- phosphono groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -PO3M2
- thiosulfato groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -S-SO3M
- phosphato groups are groups corresponding to the general formula -OPO3M2, where M has the meaning given above.
- the individual formula members can have meanings which are the same or different from one another.
- Alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms are preferably the ethyl and in particular the methyl group; Alkoxy groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms are preferably the ethoxy and in particular the methoxy group; Alkanoylamino groups of 2 to 5 carbon atoms are preferably the propionylamino group and in particular the acetylamino group and carbalkoxy groups of 2 to 5 carbon atoms, preferably the carbomethoxy and carbethoxy group.
- K represents the 1-hydroxy-naphth-2-yl radical substituted by 1, 2 or 3 sulfo groups or denotes a radical of the general formula (4c) in which B1 is a carboxy or methyl group and Q represents a phenyl radical which is substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group of 2 methyl groups, 2 ethoxy groups, 2 methoxy groups, 2 sulfo groups, 1 carboxy group and 1 chlorine atom, one of which Substituent is necessarily a carboxy or sulfo group, or the phenyl radical is substituted by a vinylsulfonyl or ⁇ -sulfatoethylsulfonyl group and can additionally be substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group consisting of 1 methyl, 2 methoxy, 1 chlorine and 1 Sulfo are selected.
- R1 is preferably a group -SO2-Y with Y of the abovementioned, particularly preferred meaning
- R2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of 1 to 4 C atoms, an alkoxy group of 1 to 4 C- Atoms, a chlorine or bromine atom or a carboxy, sulfo or nitro group
- R3 is a hydrogen atom.
- the present invention further relates to processes for the preparation of the azo compounds of the general formula (1) according to the invention, for example by coupling reaction of the diazonium compound of an amino compound of the general formula (5) in which Y 'has one of the meanings of Y or is the ⁇ -hydroxyethyl group and R, M and n have the meanings given above, with a coupling component of the general formula HK with K the meaning given above; if K is a bivalent coupling component, as stated above, a disazo compound, if desired, can be prepared by reacting this bivalent coupling component with twice the equimolar amount of the diazo component.
- the diazotization and coupling reactions take place in a customary and well-known manner, for example the diazotization of the amine (5) generally at a temperature between -5 ° C. and + 15 ° C. and a pH below 2 using a strong acid and alkali metal nitrite in a preferably aqueous medium and the coupling reaction generally at a pH between 1.5 and 4.5 in the case of a coupling component containing amino groups and at a pH between 3 and 7.5 in the case of a coupling component containing hydroxyl groups and at a temperature between 0 and 30 ° C in a preferably aqueous medium.
- the coupling component is a divalent, double-coupling compound, if it contains, for example, a coupling-capable amino group and at the same time a coupling-capable hydroxyl group
- the coupling can first be carried out with the first mol of the diazonium compound of the amine in the acidic pH range to the monoazo compound and the second coupling reaction to produce a disazo compound with the second mole of the diazonium compound of the amine then in the slightly acidic to weakly alkaline range.
- This procedure applies, for example, to the compounds corresponding to the general formulas (4p) and (4q), so by coupling the aminonaphtholsulfonic acid first with the first mole of the diazonium compound of the amine of the general formula (5) or another aromatic amine corresponding to the general formula D * -NH2 with D * of the abovementioned meaning other than D in the acidic medium and then by coupling the monoazo compound formed with the second mole of a diazonium compound of an amine D * -NH2 with D * of the above meaning in the weakly acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline range, where D * has one of the meanings given for D, provided that the first coupling reaction was not carried out with a diazonium compound of an amine (5), in particular first at a pH of about 1 to 2.5 and then at a pH between 4 and 6.5, provided that the diazonium compound of the amino compound (5 ) is identical in both coupling reactions, the first and second coupling reactions in one and the same
- the coupling component resorcinol is advantageously reacted with the diazonium compound (s) initially at a pH between 0.8 and 2 and then at a pH between 6 and 7 , 5th

- Diejenigen Verbindungen, in welchen Y bzw.
