Definitions

  • the invention relates generically to a method for packaging pressure-sensitive piece products, in which the objects to be packaged are placed on packaging bases which are moved continuously in a row and a cover is then placed over them, the objects above the packaging bases with the same transport direction at an acute angle at a transfer point be pushed onto the packaging shelves, which are brought up to the transfer point at the same time and are continuously moved during the transfer.
  • the generic method known from CH-PS 356 400 is intended to place shaped, ready-to-bake dough pieces on packaging bases, which are then passed under the transfer point practically without space.
  • the dough pieces are produced by a shaping roller equipped with molding pits and placed on a conveyor belt designed as a suction belt, which is guided past the shaping roller. Due to the manufacturing process, the dough pieces are brought to the transfer point at known, precisely maintained intervals. All that is required for the trouble-free execution of the method is synchronization of the drives, for example by mechanical coupling. With a large number of products, it is not always possible to maintain uniform distances. This applies, for example, to the production of pies and frozen foods. The generic method cannot be used for such products.
  • the invention has for its object to further develop the method described above so that piece products, in particular pies and frozen foods, can be packaged, which are produced in chronological order with a freely selectable cycle and often with an uneven chronological sequence.
  • the invention teaches that the objects to be packed are placed on the packaging base of unfolded folding boxes, that the objects continuously fed in series are transferred to a transfer belt that only carries one object at a time and are pushed by this onto the packaging base of the assigned folding box, the distance of the objects and the associated folding box from the transfer point being measured and the conveying speed of the transfer belt being controlled so that the objects with their assigned folding boxes are sent to the transfer point at the same time be brought up, and that finally the side walls formed on the packaging base are erected and a lid is put on.
  • the objects are preferably brought to the transfer belt at a distance corresponding to the distance between the folding boxes.
  • the piece products to be packaged are brought to the transfer point at a desired speed corresponding to the conveying speed of the folding boxes, and at the transfer point there is at most a small difference in speed between the packaging base and the object to be placed thereon. If a conveyor belt is brought upstream of the transfer belt for the introduction of the objects, the conveying speed of which is also controlled according to the distance of the objects and the associated folding boxes from the transfer point, then a further minimization of the differential speed occurring at the transfer point between the object and the folding box base. With the method according to the invention, it is possible to pack pressure-sensitive piece products, which may only be gripped from below, gently and in a fully continuous process at high working speed.
  • the method according to the invention is particularly efficient when, by controlling the feed speed of the objects in front of the transfer belt and by maintaining a distance between the objects corresponding to the folding box distance, it is ensured that no or at most a very low differential speed between the folding box base and the object to be placed on it occurs. Slipping is impossible and the object can be placed precisely even at very high working speeds.
  • the invention teaches, as a preferred use, the use of the method for packaging cakes and frozen foods.
  • the invention further relates to an apparatus for performing the method.
  • the generic structure of the device includes a continuous folding box conveyor and a transport device for objects to be packed with a transfer belt, which has a transfer apron forming the transfer point, the transport device with the transfer belt being arranged above the folding box conveyor and the transfer belt and the folding box conveyor at an acute angle to one another and the packaging floors of unfolded folding boxes can be passed a few millimeters apart under the transfer apron of the transfer belt.
  • the device according to the invention is characterized by a conveyor belt upstream of the transfer belt for feeding the objects to be packaged, a drive device for the transfer belt with adjustable drive speed and a control device, the transfer belt carrying only one object at a time and the control device determining the position of the objects to be packaged and of them polls assigned folding boxes and controls the drive device of the transfer belt so that the objects with their assigned folding boxes are simultaneously brought to the transfer point.
  • a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterized in that the folding box conveyor has an ascending transport section in the area of the transfer belt, which connects horizontal conveyor sections, the folding boxes being able to be fed at a vertical distance from the objects to be packed and being able to be removed above the transfer point.
  • the transport device for the objects to be packaged essentially horizontally. It is understood that the transfer point must be made almost step-free, which can be achieved in that the transfer belt is formed with the upper run and lower run tapering towards the transfer apron.
  • the device is set up in such a way that folding boxes can be used which have a packaging base, molded side walls and a prefolded hood-shaped cover with peripheral side surfaces, the cover being connected to a side wall.
  • folding boxes can be used which have a packaging base, molded side walls and a prefolded hood-shaped cover with peripheral side surfaces, the cover being connected to a side wall.
  • the invention teaches that the folding box conveyor has two contact surfaces which are connected by a longitudinally extending shoulder, the upper contact surface being provided for the packaging bases of the folding boxes, the lower contact surface being intended for the pre-folded covers and the heel forms a lid stop.
  • the basic structure of the device shown in the figure includes a continuous folding box conveyor 1, a transport device 2 for objects to be packed with a conveyor belt 3 and an adjoining transfer belt 4 with a transfer apron 5.
  • the transfer belt 4 includes a drive device 6 with a controllable drive speed that is adapted to a is connected by a control box indicated control device 7.
  • folding boxes 8 unfolded with the folding box conveyor 1 are continuously advanced in a row, which have a pre-folded lid 9 and a packaging base 10 with side walls 11 formed thereon.
  • the objects 12 to be packaged are fed above the folding boxes 8 in the same transport direction, transferred to the transfer belt 4, which only transports one object 12 at a time, and from this at an acute angle at a transfer point 13 to the packaging base 10 of the assigned, pushed on continuously moving carton 8.
  • the distance between the objects 12 and the associated folding boxes 8 from the transfer point 13 is measured by the control device 7 and the conveying speed of the transfer belt 4 is controlled so that the objects 12 with their assigned folding boxes 8 are brought to the transfer point 13 at the same time.
  • the objects 12 are preferably brought to the transfer belt 4 at a distance corresponding to the folding box distance a.
  • the conveyor belt 3 is also equipped for this purpose with a controllable drive, and the conveying speed of the conveyor belt 3 is controlled so that the object 12 reaching the transfer belt 4 and the associated folding box 8 are already positioned so that they start at approximately the same conveying speed the transfer point 13 can be brought up.
  • the controllable drive device 6 of the transfer belt 4 is only intended to compensate for slight positional deviations. It goes without saying that the position data of the object 12 reaching the transfer belt 4 is used as a control variable for the drive speed of the transfer belt 4. In principle, it is also possible to use this position data to control the conveying speed the upstream conveyor belt 3 to use. However, it is more favorable to use a value averaged from a plurality of position data for the control of the conveyor belt 3 upstream of the transfer belt 4.
  • the conveyor belt 3 and the transfer belt 4 are arranged in the conveying direction above the folding box conveyor 1, the transfer belt 4 and the folding box conveyor 1 converging at an acute angle.
  • the folding box conveyor 1 has an increasing transport section 14 in the area of the transfer belt 4, which connects horizontal conveyor sections 15.
  • the folding boxes 8 can be fed at a vertical distance h from the objects 12 to be packed and can be removed again above the transfer point 13.
  • the packaging trays 10 of unfolded folding boxes 8 can be passed a few millimeters apart under the transfer apron 5 of the transfer belt 4.
  • the transfer apron 5 is shorter than the objects 12 to be packed.
  • the transfer belt 4 is formed with the upper run 16 and lower run 17 tapering towards the transfer apron 5 and the transfer apron 5 adjoins the upper run 16 at the angle of inclination.
  • the folding box conveyor 1 has two contact surfaces 18, 19 which are connected by a shoulder 20 running in the longitudinal direction.
  • the upper contact surface 18 is provided for the packaging bases 10 with molded, unfolded side walls 11.
  • the lower contact surface 19 is intended for pre-folded covers 9 provided with side surfaces, one side surface of which is connected to a side wall 11.
  • the pre-folded covers 9 of the folding boxes 8 transported by the folding box conveyor 1 lie flush against the shoulder 20.
  • the transfer apron 5 can also be arranged as a support plate between the upper run 16 and lower run 17, specifically in the area of the transfer point 13.
