Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a vacuum packaging machine with a base and with a cover, the cover being removable relative to the base.
  • a previously known vacuum packaging machine of this type has a vacuum chamber for treating goods to be packaged, the vacuum chamber being arranged in the region of the transition from the cover to the base.
  • This chamber comprises an upper part and a lower part, the upper part being assigned to the machine cover and the lower part being assigned to the machine substructure.
  • the lid is pivotally connected to the machine base with the aid of hinges.
  • the floor plan of the vacuum chamber should be as large as possible so that as many items as possible can be treated in this chamber at the same time. For several reasons, efforts are being made to keep the floor plan of the machine base as small as possible. The consequence of this is that the hinges on the substructure are located close to the rear wall of the vacuum chamber.
  • the face of the lid is usually provided with at least one handle.
  • the operator opens and closes the machine and thus also the vacuum chamber.
