Definitions
- the invention relates to a rapier weaving machine with at least one gripper belt which drives a gripper, which lies substantially above the top of the gripper belt, and with a sley, on which a reed and guide means are mounted, which have guides for the gripper belt, the top, a side edge and the bottom of the rapier band and a downwardly projecting rib are assigned.
- a rapier weaving machine of the type mentioned uses the applicant in their time to market rapier looms.
- the construction essentially corresponds to the US 5,413,151 .
- a guide member is mounted in the longitudinal center of a gripper is attached.
- the guide part whose width corresponds to the width of the rapier band, has on the side facing away from the reed a downwardly projecting rib.
- the guide member and the rapier band are guided with attached to the sley hook-shaped guide means which are open to reed out.
- the hook-shaped guide means have guides that the top of the guide member and the rapier band and the underside of the guide member and the Gripper band are assigned.
- Another guide is assigned to the reed facing away from the side edge of the rapier band and the guide member. Further, guides are provided which guide the rib of the guide member in the transverse direction, so that the guide member is guided on all sides with the gripper. This construction works reliably. A problem, however, is that in this type - as well as in all other practical types used - relatively quickly such a strong wear occurs that the guide member must be replaced.
- hook-shaped guide elements are attached to the batten, which almost completely enclose the top and bottom of the rapier band.
- the underside of the rapier band is provided with a longitudinally extending groove, engage in the guides of the hook-shaped guide means, so that the rapier band is also guided in the transverse direction.
- the gripper is attached laterally to the rapier band.
- the lateral arrangement of the gripper on the gripper belt leads to significant lateral loads of the rapier band, especially during braking and acceleration, so that also a relatively heavy wear occurs. If a certain amount of wear is achieved, the entire gripper band must be replaced in this type.
- the invention has for its object to improve a rapier of the type mentioned so that the wear is reduced.
- the rib extends at least over the length of the rapier band, which is insertable into a shed, and arranged at a lateral distance to the side edges of the rapier band in that the guide means form guides for the upper side, the side flank and the underside of the rapier band in the edge region of the rapier band facing away from the reed, and in that the guide means in the area facing the reed guides for the underside of the rapier band and for the side flank facing the reed form the rib, while the bottom and the reed facing away from the side edge of the rib are unguided.
- the invention is based on the consideration that the main cause of the wear are forces that are caused in particular during braking and acceleration of the rapier head, which lies with its center of mass above the top of the rapier band, so that the forces have a tendency to gripper belt and Givenfallas a gripper band extending, carrying the gripper guide member to rotate about the longitudinal axis.
- the invention therefore provides that the guides that counteract the rotation of the rapier band, attack with the most favorable lever arms to the rapier, so that the forces acting against twisting forces are reduced. Since the rib is arranged at a distance from the side of the gripper belt remote from the reed, it is made possible that the guide means form guides for the underside of the gripper belt on both sides of the rib.
- a particular advantage consists in the fact that the side facing away from the reed and thus the edge of the goods facing side edge and the underside of the rib do not cooperate with guides of the guide means. These surfaces, which come into contact with warp threads when closing the shed, are therefore not exposed to wear on the guides, so that they are not expected to damage the warp threads.
- the weaving machine shown in Fig. 1 has two side parts 1, 2 in which a sley 3 is mounted.
- the sley 3 is provided on both sides with drives 4, 5, by means of which it is driven to a reciprocating motion.
- drives 4, 5 by means of which it is driven to a reciprocating motion.
- a reed 6 is arranged by means of which registered weft threads are struck at the edge of the goods.
- the weft threads are introduced in a known manner by means of a Gebergreifers 7 and a gripper rapier 8 in a shed.
- the grapple 7 takes on the one side of the loom in a known manner a weft and transports him to about the middle of the loom, i. in the middle of a shed. There he is taken over by the gripper rapier 8, which then brings him to the opposite side of the loom.
- the Gebergreifer 7 and the slave gripper 8 are each driven by a gripper belt 9, which push the gripper rapier 8 and the Gebergreifer 7 each in an open shed and pull out again.
- the gripper belts 9 are preferably made of fiber-reinforced plastic and have a substantially flat, rechteckig cross-section, with their flat sides are each approximately horizontal. From the bottom protrudes downwards from a longitudinal rib 53, the height of which corresponds approximately to the thickness of the rapier bands 9. The width of the rib 53 corresponds approximately to its height.
- the gripper bands 9 are guided in the region of the side parts 1, 2 by means of stationary guides 10, 11.
- the gripper belts are driven by means of gears 12, 13, around which they are guided. They are held by incidentssblökken 14 on the circumference of the gears 12, 13.
- the gears 12, 13 are driven by means of drives 15, 16 to reciprocating rotary motion.
- the drives 15, 16 are synchronized with the drives 4, 5 of the sley 3.
- the grapple gripper 7 and the gripper rapier 8 are arranged directly on the ends of the rapier belts 9 or on guide parts which are respectively attached to the front ends of the gripper belts 9.
- the guide parts are designed so that they correspond to the cross section of the rapier bands 9.
- the gripper bands 9 are guided by means of guide means 17.
- These guide means 17, which will be explained in detail in the following figures, are components which have only a small extent in the longitudinal direction of the shed and which are exaggerated in FIG. 1 for illustrative purposes.
- the guide means 17 are arranged on the sley 3, so that they move with the sley 3 and the reed 6. They dive from below into a shed 21, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
- This shed 21 is formed by an upper warp sheet 22 and a lower Kettfadenschar 23, which are raised and lowered by means not shown shed forming means and converge in the fabric edge 24.
- the thread guide means 17 are formed so narrow in the longitudinal direction of the shed 21 that they can pass between the warp threads of the lower warp sheet 23.
- the guide means 17 are moved out of the shed 21 by the lower warp sheet 23. If the reed 6 is moved back into the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 3, the guide means 17 again penetrate the lower warp sheet 23 and enter the shed 21. After striking a weft, the shed 21 is changed, wherein at least a portion of the warp threads of the upper warp sheet 22 down and at least a portion of the warp threads of the lower warp sheet 23 are moved upward.
- the guide means 17 are fastened by means of screws 25 to a sley profile 26.
- the grapple gripper 7 and the gripper rapier 8 can be attached to guide parts 18 (FIG. 12), which are arranged in aligned extension of the rapier belts 9.
- guide parts 18 FIG. 12
- the rapier band 9 of the gripper rapier 8 is mirror-inverted, the description also applies to the guidance of the rapier band 9 of the gripper rapier.
- the gripper belt 9 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 has a cross-shaped cross section with arms 50, 51, 52 and 53 arranged symmetrically with respect to a central vertical plane of symmetry 34.
- the arm 53 forms a downwardly projecting rib.
- rows of holes 58, 59 are provided (Fig. 4), which are intended for engagement of arranged in two rows of teeth of the drive gears 12, 13.
- the guide means 17 have two guide elements 55, 56, of which the guide elements 55 are assigned to the gripper belt 9 on the reed facing side 6 and the guide elements 56 to the gripper belt 9 on the reed 6 side facing away.
- the guide elements 56 form three guides, of which a guide 31 of the top of the rapier band 9, a guide 34 of the reed 6 remote from the side edge and a guide 32 of the bottom of the rapier band 9 is assigned. These three guides 31, 34, 32 grasp the side edge area of the rapier band 9 facing away from the reed 6.
- the guide elements 55 form two guides, of which a guide 29 is assigned to the reed 53 facing the reed 53 on the underside of the rapier band 9, while the further guide 30 is associated with the reed 6 facing the side edge of the rib 53. Between the guide 32 and the reed 53 facing away from the side edge of the rib 53, a distance A is left, so that neither this side flank nor the bottom of the rib 53 guides the guide means 17 are assigned. These surfaces are therefore no wear exposed so that they are not worn or damaged. As can be seen in particular from FIG.
- the warp threads upon closing the shed 21, when the looper bands 9 have not yet been completely pulled out of the shed, contact this rib 53, so that they are guided by elements of the looper band 9, which are not exposed to wear.
- This rib 53 extends at least over the length of the rapier band 9, which is insertable into the shed 21.
- the embodiment of FIG. 5 differs from the embodiment of FIGS. 2 and 3 mainly by the guide means.
- the guide elements 55, 56 are arranged offset to one another in the direction of movement of the rapier band 9.
- the guide elements 55 and the guide elements 56 can each be individual components which are fastened to the sley profile 26 separately from one another by means of screws 25.
- components are provided which each contain a guide element 55 and a guide element 56 as a structural unit, but which have a spacing from one another in the direction of movement of the gripper bands 9.
- the guide elements 55 have as in the embodiment of FIGS. 2 and 3 one of the reed 6 facing side edge of the rib 53 associated guide 30 and the underside of the rapier band 9 associated guide 29.
- the guide 29 extends approximately over one third of the width of Gripper belt 9.
- the guide elements 56 grasp the gripper belt 9 on the side facing away from the reed 6 and have a guide 31 associated with the top, a guide 32 associated with the underside and a guide 34 associated with the intermediate side flank.
- fastening means 35 of the gripper 7 are eccentrically offset in the direction of the reed 6 attached to the rapier band 9 or a guide part.
- the guides 29, 32 and 31 guide the gripper belt 9 in the vertical direction.
- the guides 30 and 34 guide the gripper belt 9 in the horizontal direction, so that the gripper belt 9 is guided in all directions.
- the guide means 55, 56 distributed at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the shed 21 are arranged.
- the guide means 56 and possibly also, the guide means 55 are arranged in denser sequence.
- the use of two different types of guide means 55, 56 respectively forming guides 29, 30 and 31, 32, 34 facing each other has the advantage that All guides are accessible to a grinding tool and therefore can be processed by grinding.
- the guides 29, 30 of the guide means 55 can be processed by means of separate grinding operations or by means of a profile grinding wheel.
- the guides 31, 32, 34 of the guide means 56 can be edited very accurately by means of a profile grinding wheel.
- This grinding of the guides 29 to 34 has the advantage that very smooth guide surfaces can be created, and that these guides can be tolerated very closely to each other.
- two types of guide means are provided in which the guides 29 to 34 are distributed in other ways.
- a hook-shaped guide means having the guides 29, 30, 31, 34 and a second guide means provided with the guide 32.
- a guide means with the guides 29, 30, 32 and a further guide means with the guides 31, 34.
- a guide means may be provided corresponding to the guide means 55 having the guides 29 and 30, and in addition to this guide means a guide means with the guides 31, 34 and a further guide means with the guide 32nd
- FIG. 6 differs from the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 5 initially in that the rib 53 'of the rapier band 9' is not in the longitudinal center plane, but offset towards the edge of the product 24.
- a metal guide rib 28 which extends substantially the length of the gripper.
- a guide rib 28 ' is provided in the form of an angularly bent sheet 70, one leg of which is arranged next to the rib 53' on the side which does not assign a guide is.
