Abstract
L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif de coulée en continu, pourvu de cylindres et conçu pour la fabrication de bandes d'acier, et notamment mais pas exclusivement de bandes d'acier à teneur faible à moyenne en carbone. Ce dispositif comporte une paire de cylindres contrarotatifs (11a, 11b) possédant une surface refroidie au moins en partie, une bande (16) étant formée par couplage et assemblage de la peau (14a, 14b) de métal qui se forme sur la surface refroidie des cylindres (11a, 11b) et qui est extraite par un ensemble (17) extracteur et éventuellement raidisseur, l'arc des cylindres qui se trouve en dehors du secteur de contact avec le métal liquide (13) étant au moins partiellement associé à un système de chauffage (18, 20). Le dispositif pourvu de cylindres (11a, 11b) est partiellement immergé dans un récipient (12) contenant du métal liquide situé sous les cylindres (11a, 11b) et un ensemble extracteur et éventuellement raidisseur (17), qui est disposé au dessus des cylindres (11a, 11b), permet d'extraire la bande (16) en partie supérieure. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de coulée en continu permettant de mouler des bandes d'acier (16) et mettant en oeuvre le dispositif décrit ci-dessus, dans lequel le bain de métal liquide (13) est situé sous les cylindres (11a, 11b) qui sont partiellement immergés et la bande (16) est extraite en partie supérieure.
