Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of the textile industry. It relates more precisely to the production of fancy fabrics used for clothing or the like. It relates more particularly to improvements made to weaving processes combined with operations for processing warp yarns. It also relates to the fabrics thus obtained which have original patterns.
- the width of the stripes is determined intangibly by the distribution of the threads of the colors used.
- One of the objectives of the invention is to allow the production of fancy fabrics chosen from a wide variety, by means of a single loom as simple as possible, and carrying a single beam formed with a single quality of thread.
- the invention therefore relates to a method for obtaining a woven fabric.
- This method comprises, in a known manner, the following stages in which: a sheet of parallel warp yarns is unwound continuously from a single beam; passing said sheet over a thread-carrying roller; a crowd is formed by means of heddles, said crowd being defined in the direction of advancement of the chain, at the entrance by a point of opening of the crowd, and on the other side by a stitch; we insert a weft thread into the crowd in the vicinity of the stitching point to form a fabric; and finally we regularly tow and roll up the fabric thus formed; and in which, in the vicinity of the opening point of the crowd, a heating of the warp threads is caused, followed by a cooling of said warp threads in the shed before they reach the healds.
- the process according to the present invention is characterized in that only part of the warp yarns is heated.
- the process according to the invention treats part of the warp threads in a differentiated manner, which means that, over the total width of the fabric, only part of its warp threads undergoes the heating step which gives them specific properties.
- the fabric thus obtained has warp threads from a single beam, delivering threads homogeneous, but which are transformed in a differentiated way during the weaving operation.
- the warp threads behave differently depending on whether or not they have undergone the treatment by heating during weaving. It follows that the different length of the warp threads and the phenomenon of complementary shrinkage, cause different deformations at the level of the fabric and distributed as a function of the selection of the warp threads which have undergone or not been reheated during weaving.
- the warp threads having undergone the heat treatment during weaving have a lower shrinkage capacity than those that have not been heated, and cause the appearance of embossed zones in thickness when the unheated threads shrink.
- the effects thus obtained are strongly pronounced, and variable depending on the threads used.
- the web is separated, downstream from the thread-carrying roller, into two series of threads, and a spacing is maintained between the two sets of warp threads, so as to only subject one of the two characteristic heating series.
- the sheet is divided according to the desired geometry, by selecting the number and the position of the wires to be heated under tension. Thanks to the simplicity of the separation mechanism, it is possible to vary without any difficulty the distribution between the two series from the sheet by selecting at will the desired distribution.
- One can for example choose to heat only a weaker part of the warp threads, while retaining a larger number of unheated threads, which will then undergo a strong shrinkage. On the contrary, choose to heat a majority of the warp threads to obtain other effects.
- each series can also be chosen according to the will of the user, and without any restriction, with the possibility of obtaining various effects on the width of the fabric.
- the method according to the invention may also include a "free" heat treatment step.
- This treatment can advantageously be a scalding or even a treatment by hot air, without tension constraint such as one can obtain it on continuous materials called "tumbler".
- tension constraint such as one can obtain it on continuous materials called "tumbler".
- the step of withdrawing a calendar, or more generally of overwriting the patterns formed can be followed to obtain a different and flattering external appearance.
- the invention also relates to textile fabrics obtained by the process according to the invention, and which have an appearance close to fabrics called "seersucker”.
- the warp threads used can be crepe threads and / or textured crepe threads, that is to say having undergone a twisting step and a false twisting step. You can also vary the effects within the fabric by using different weft threads and slats.
- the fabric obtained can have extremely varied effects depending on whether the yarns which have undergone the heat treatment during weaving are equal or more or less numerous than those which have retained their withdrawal capacity without having been heated.
- the effects can also be varied by choosing, within the series of warp threads to be heated, bundles having a distribution either uniform or variable according to a choice of the manufacturer.
- the process according to the invention can also prove to be advantageous for producing patterns on the warp threads, from a transfer paper.
- the invention consists in dissociating the web of threads of warp threads intended to receive the printing in order to form bundles of threads on which the patterns present on the transfer paper are printed, and which form when are gathered with the other threads of the tablecloth, the characteristic stripes.
- the threads forming the stripes on the fabric are printed, and the borders of the stripes on the fabric are perfectly materialized at the level of a single thread.
- the stripes are therefore perfectly straight.
- each of the series of warp threads is determined so that they consist of bundles of threads each comprising a number of neighboring threads.
- the invention is not limited to this single embodiment, but also makes it possible to obtain stripes of any dimensions, by selecting regularly or not, and with total freedom, the number of wires that will undergo the printing step. A very large variety can thus be obtained since it is possible to select thread by thread, and to obtain extreme stripes limited to a single thread in width.
- the effects can be multiplied, in particular by selecting a transfer paper which has a striped pattern parallel to the direction of travel of the paper, and such that one of the borders between said strips is brought in the vicinity of the part of the warp threads on which has got the impression.
- an additional pattern can be printed, itself made up of stripes, possibly moving by varying the mixture of two neighboring colors.
- the invention also relates to woven fabrics, in accordance with the invention, and which have a plurality of parallel stripes. It is observed as already said, that each stripe thus has a border whose intensity of color is greater than that of the rest of the stripe.
- Figure 1 is a side view of a weaving loom operating according to the method according to the invention, shown in its application for the production of fabrics of the "seersucker" type.
- Figure 2 is a top view of the web at the characteristic area of the invention in which heating is caused prior to weaving itself.
- Figure 3 is a top view of the same area, but with a different distribution of the two series of warp son.
- FIG. 4 is a photograph of a fabric of the "seersucker" type, obtained in accordance with the invention.
- Figure 5 is a photograph of the fabric of Figure 4 having undergone calendering.
- Figure 6 is a side view of a weaving loom operating in a variant of the method according to the invention, for producing striped patterns on a fabric.
- FIG. 7 is a photograph of a sample of fabric obtained using the loom of FIG. 6.
- the invention relates to a weaving process treating the warp threads in a different manner. It can have several applications, and in particular two main applications, namely the production of "seersucker" type fabrics, which will be described in the first instance, as well as the production of striped fabrics, which will be described in the second instance.
- the weaving method is intended to be applied to warp yarns generally having a high modulus of elasticity.
- This process can be implemented on a traditional weaving loom, equipped with elements making it possible to ensure thermal treatment of the warp threads while they are under tension by the take-up roll of the fabric of the weaving loom, and as the Applicant has described in patent FR 2 751 350.
- Such a weaving loom further comprises special arrangements making it possible to produce the characteristic fabric of the invention.
- a weaving loom has, in the direction of travel of the thread, a beam (1) mounted on a barrel (2), and on which all the parallel warp threads are wound.
- warp threads (3), from the beam (1) are unwound up to a thread-carrying roller (4) from which they take a substantially horizontal direction.
- the warp threads (3) pass on either side of two spaghetti strips (31, 32). After these sponges (31, 32), they are brought together again in a single ply by the guides (5, 6). Then they are supported by beams (7, 8) whose object is to spread up or down the different warp threads (3) to 8 form the shed (9), and allow the insertion of the weft thread (16).
- the reference (15) designates the opening point of the crowd.
- the warp threads meet at the point of shaping (10) on which the comb (11) comes to beat, after each reopening of the crowd. From the shaping point, the fabric (12) thus formed passes through different deflection rollers (13) to reach the winding system (14).
- the invention consists in heating only part of the warped wires under tension in the vicinity of the opening point of the crowd, in order to reduce their modulus of elasticity, and if necessary allow them to undergo, thanks to the 'action of the trade, a jerky print just before weaving itself.
- a heating pad (20) present over the entire width of the set of warp threads, and which can come into contact with part of the ply of warp threads, between the spurs (31, 32).
- transverse heating element the underside of which is covered with a material with very high surface hardness and low friction rate to avoid any abrasion by the warp threads which would cause subsequent deterioration of the warp threads themselves.
- the invention covers all types of heating of the skate, and in particular those using electrical energy, to the appropriate connection means (22).
- the loom downstream of the wire-carrying roller (4), the loom has at least one spanning rod (31) allowing the separation of the ply (30) into two series, namely a series (34) passing over the bar (31), and therefore intended to come close to the shoe (20).
- the two series (33) and (34) travel parallel paths until they reach the second spreading rod (32) marking the end of the zone of separation of the two series (33, 34).
- FIG. 2 illustrates a distribution of these wires within each of the series.
- the series of wires traversing the characteristic zone while being distant from the shoe breaks up into several beams (40, 42, 44) passing below the bars (31) and (32).
- the beams (41, 43, 45) pass them, over the bars (31, 32) and therefore have a route passing near the skate.
- the different beams (40, 45) have identical widths, which results in the final product by deformations uniformly distributed approximately in a regular grid.
- the shoe can be associated with any advantageous device making it possible to avoid degradation or even melting of the wires when the progression of the wires is stopped.
- a fabric was made from warp threads made of polyester, of a count of 50 decitex, with 36 strands, twisted at 1300 turns per meter, and having previously undergone a step of false twist.
- this textured crepe warp thread was woven with weft threads also in polyester, of 50 decitex, 36 strands and twisted at 750 turns per meter.
- Such a fabric has multiple hollow and raised areas formed by a differentiated length of the threads and accentuated by the differentiated withdrawal of the different areas of the tissue.
- the effects obtained can also have a greater variety, by subjecting an additional calendering or ironing step making it possible to crush the different patterns, as shown in the photograph in FIG. 5.
- the invention can also be advantageously implemented for producing striped fabrics, using the dye sublimation technique carried by a transfer paper.
- the loom used can be that illustrated in FIG. 6 in which the web of warp threads (3) is unwound in a known manner from its beam (2) by passing over a set of detour rollers (4, 4 ').
- the chain penetrates into frames comprising the healds (7, 8), then into the threshing comb (11) which forms the point of shaping
- the formed fabric (12) then passes over a detour roller (13) to be returned to a store roller (14).
- the reference (15) designates the opening point of the crowd.
- a heating pad (63) capable of being moved up and down, fixes the dye by heat on the chain which advance slowly.
- a detour bar (64) makes it possible to recover the spent transfer paper (65) on a roller (66), synchronized with the advance of the loom.
- this separation is obtained by the use of two transverse bars (31, 32) placed between the detour roller (4), and the bars (5, 6) materializing the opening point (15) a crowd.
- the selection of the wires forming part of the series (34) coming into contact with the paper is carried out with complete freedom, which makes it possible, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 or 3, to obtain either perfectly identical stripe patterns, when the segments (40, 45) all have an equal or similar number of wires, or to obtain variable effects at will when the bundles (50, 55) (see FIG. 3) have very different numbers of wires.
- the wires situated at the end of each of the bundles when they come into contact with the paper (61) in the area facing the pad (63), receive the sublimed dyes. It has been observed that the threads located at the end of each of the bundles receive more dyes than the threads located in the center of the bundle, it follows that when the printed threads are combined with the warp threads of the series (33) , an overcurrent of color is visible at the level of these particular wires.
- the stripe thus obtained therefore has a particularly appreciable setting effect.
- transfer papers having patterns which, combined with the striping effect obtained in accordance with the process of the invention, multiply the visual effects.
- the method according to the invention has multiple advantages, and in particular allows: - to obtain perfectly straight stripes and capable of reproducing a pattern of a great variety; - to modify with great ease the dimension of the selected stripes, by operating with a single beam by the only modification of the distribution of the warp threads to receive the impression.
- the fabric according to the invention is particularly original, because it has perfectly rectilinear stripes having borders limited to a single thread, while being able to present patterns of an extreme variety.
