Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant, d'une manière complètement automatique, de former des enveloppes de la taille de l'article sans laisser d'espace entre l'article et la ligne de soudure. Le procédé consiste à disposer, dans une direction d'alimentation, au moins une nappe (30) de film continu qui peut subir un soudage thermoplastique selon deux rabats continus, se recouvrant l'un l'autre, de manière à présenter une ligne longitudinale continue fermée. La nappe pliée (38) comporte une extrémité avant fermée préalablement de manière transversale. Des moyens de découpe et de soudage de thermoplastique sont mis en oeuvre (52) transversalement à la nappe. Après avoir écarté l'un de l'autre les rabats opposés à l'extrémité longitudinale fermée continue (33) un article (10) est inséré aux fins d'emballage et disposé à cette fin entre les moyens de découpe/soudage (52) et l'extrémité avant fermée (38). Puis, au niveau des moyens de découpe/soudage (52), on effectue un resserrement transversal (53) de la nappe pliée, au moyen d'un dispositif de préhension transversal (53), laissant la nappe libre de glisser à travers ce dispositif. On tire alors la nappe en amont (45) du dispositif de préhension transversal et on tire vers l'arrière la nappe qui glisse au travers du dispositif de préhension jusqu'à ce qu'une extrémité avant de l'article rentre en contact avec l'extrémité avant fermée. On tire encore une fois vers l'arrière la nappe jusqu'à ce qu'une extrémité arrière de l'article rentre en contact avec le dispositif de préhension transversal. Ensuite on découpe et on soude transversalement la nappe au voisinage du dispositif de préhension transversal, ce qui résulte en la formation d'une enveloppe formée et fermée sur trois côtés autour de l'article. Dans cette étape, il n'y a aucun élément supportant l'article contre le dispositif de préhension, ce dispositif servant de moyen de blocage. Enfin, l'enveloppe est éloignée et la nappe tirée, les moyens de découpe et de soudage permettant de créer dans la nappe une extrémité avant fermée.
