- the semi-cylindrical shaped ceramic dome 32 functions as a furnace for baking potteries, because it emits the received thermal energy as radiant heat of the far- infrared rays when the ceramic dome is heated to a predetermined temperature.
- the semi-cylindrical shaped ceramic dome 32 is heated by the burning device 31 to thereby arrive high temperature and emits the radiant heat of the far-infrared rays with maintaining the temperature.
- the heat generated from the burning device 31 heats the ceramic dome 32 to maintain the temperature in the ceramic dome 32 and generates hot air at the upper side of the burning device 31 and is circulated with causing convection phenomena in which the generated hot air is exchanged with the opposite cold air, so that the green beans 2 can be uniformly roasted by the heated air circulating in the ceramic dome 32 and the radiant heat of the far-infrared rays emitted from the front surface of the inner wall of the ceramic dome 32, if the roasting tub 10 is rotated with located at the center of the ceramic dome 32.
- the ceramic dome 32 disposed in the oven 30 is heated by the burning of the gas flame after the ignition of the burning device 31 of the oven 30, and the ceramic dome 32 disposed at the inside of the oven 30 is preheated by controlling the temperature control device 33 so that the inside of the oven 30 is maintained at predetermined temperature.
- the inside temperature of the ceramic dome 32 is maintained in the range of 200-220?, in which the green beans can be most sweetly roasted.
- the lid 12 is opened and a predetermined quantity of green beans 2 are charged into the roasting tub 10, and then the lid 12 is closed and the slider 24 is rotated so that the rotation rod 15 becomes to be horizontal, and rotates the rotatable arm 20 in the horizontal direction to make the roasting tub 10 to be directed to the entrance opening 34 of the ceramic dome 32, and locates the roasting tub 10 at the center of the ceramic dome 32 by pushing the rotation rod 15 inserted into the slider 24 into the ceramic dome 32.
- the motor 17 is operated for a predetermined time at a predetermined speed by means of the control portion 17b, and then the green beans 2 accommodated in the roasting tub 10 can be uniformly roasted by the radiant heat of the far-infrared rays radiated from the heated ceramic dome 32 and the heated circulation air from the inside to the outside.
- the burn gas (bad flavor) generated from the burning of the shell of the green beans 2 is re-burned by the gas flame of the burning device 31.
- the green beans are roasted by the radiant heat of the far- infrared rays in the present invention, which is a new roasting method and is not a conventional hot wind type roasting method or a direct firing roasting method, the green beans 2 are roasted more uniformly from the inside to the outside than by the conventional methods, and the burn gas (bad flavor) generated during the roasting is re- burned by the gas flame to thereby prevent bad flavor from permeating into the coffee beans so that it is possible to produce high quality coffee beans.
- the present invention can improve the quality of the coffee beans by the moving roast of the roasting tub 10.
- the green beans (coffee beans) 2 roasted from the coffee beans roaster 1 are maintained at high temperature while they are drawn out to the outside from the ceramic dome 32, so that the green beans 2 are continuously roasted by the heat to thereby much more improve the roasting effect.
- the present invention comprises an upper hood 41 disposed at the upper portion of the oven 30 for collecting and discharging smokes, and the roasting tub 10 is drawn out from the ceramic dome 32 and the rotatable arm 20 is rotated in the horizontal direction, and the roasting tub 10 is erected vertically and moved by erecting the slider 24, so that the green beans 2 in the roasting tub 10 can be quickly cooled by the flow of the peripheral air.
- an air cooling device 40 is disposed at the upper portion of the roasting tub 10, the air cooling device being constructed of a roasting tub hood 42 disposed at the upper portion of the roasting tub 10, a cooling fan 44 disposed at the upper portion of the roasting tub hood 42 for suctioning and discharging the hot air of the roasting tub 10, and a smokestack 43 disposed at the upper portion of the roasting tub 10 for discharging the suctioned hot air to the upper portion.
- the cooling fan 44 becomes to suck the hot air of the roasting tub 10 by the roasting tub hood 42, and the air come into the roasting tub 10 via the vent hole 11 passes through it with absorbing the heat of the green beans 2 so that the green beans 2 with high temperature can be quickly air-cooled to give the coffee beans proper taste and flavor.
- the air discharged through the smokestack 43 of the air cooling device 40 is only at high temperature and don t have any bad smoke or smell, it can be discharged to the indoor, however, it can be discharged to the outside by connecting the distal end of the smokestack 43 to the inside of the upper hood 41.
- the upper hood 41 is disposed according to its requirement, and it functions to discharge the incomplete burn gas, which has not been burned in the roaster 1 yet, to the outside.
- the gist of the present invention resides in the method for roasting coffee beans and the coffee beans roaster.
- the method for roasting coffee beans of the present invention comprises the steps of roasting green beans 2 accommodated in a roasting tub 10 by convection heat of heated air and radiant heat of the far-infrared rays generated from a ceramic dome 32, after heating the ceramic dome 32 in a roaster 1 by the heat generated from the burning of the gas of a burning device 31 disposed in the ceramic dome 32 so that the green beans of the coffee can be roasted without contacting with the fire and the burn gas produced in the roasting can be removed, and re-burning the gas generated from the burning of shell of the green beans 2 using the gas flame produced from the burning device 31, so that the burn gas can be removed to make the taste and flavor of the coffee good.
- the coffee beans roaster of the present invention comprises a semi-cylindrical ceramic dome 32 disposed in an oven 30 and having a predetermined thickness and a burning device 31 mounted at one side therein, a rotatable arm 20 supported by means of a hinge 21 at one side of the oven so as to rotate horizontally, a slider 24 connected to a distal end of the rotatable arm 20 by means of a rotation joint 22 and provided with a rotation rod 15 mounted at the inside therein so as to slidably rotate and move in the linear direction, the rotation rod 15 being connected at one end thereof to a motor 17 and connected at the other end thereof to a roasting tub 10, so that the roasting tub 10 rotated by the rotation rod 15, which is rotated by the motor 17, can roast the green beans 2 while rotating in an inner space of the ceramic dome 32 to thereby re-burn and remove the gas generated from the burning.
- the coffee bean roaster of the present invention further includes an air cooling device 40 disposed at the upper portion of the roasting tub 10, the air cooling device being constructed of a roasting tub hood 42 and a cooling fan 44 for decreasing the temperature of the green beans 2 accommodated in the roasting tub 10 by suctioning the hot air of the roasting tub when it is drawn to the outside of the ceramic dome 32 by the rotation of the rotatable arm 20, and a smokestack 43 for discharging the suctioned hot air.
