Definitions

  • the invention relates to a connector housing, an arrangement with such a connector housing and a plug connection with such a connector housing and a corresponding mating connector housing.
  • a connector housing is typically attached to a mating connector housing via a screw connection or a bayonet connection, which is fixed in a housing wall of an electrical device.
  • a connector housing is in the document US 2011/0189876 A1 shown.
  • a remedy here is a fastening by means of a lever which can be rotated transversely to the plug-in direction of the connector housing.
  • Such connector housings are usually in distribution boxes on cell phone masts used.
  • high demands are placed on the cable-side end of the connector housing in terms of the fixing of the cable and the impermeability to moisture, dust and dirt.
  • the tightness of the plug-side end is also important.
  • the pamphlet US 2018/0013235 A1 discloses a connector housing with a lever mounted transversely to the plug-in direction.
  • a sealing element is provided on the connector side, which is compressed by the closing process of the lever.
  • a closure element is provided on the cable side, which is compressed by a screwing process, ie by a rotary movement of the closure element about an axis in the plugging direction, in order to fix the cable and to seal it off from the cable.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a connector housing in which a rotary movement of an element about an axis in the plug-in direction of the connector housing by the fitter can be dispensed with. It is also an object of the invention to provide an arrangement and a plug connection with such a connector housing.
  • a connector housing which has a housing, a sleeve which is arranged movably relative to the housing, and a lever.
  • the lever is rotatable about an axis of rotation running perpendicular to an insertion direction of the connector housing, mounted on the housing, the sleeve being displaceable in the insertion direction for fixing a cable by means of a rotational movement of the lever and wherein the connector housing can be locked to a mating connector housing by means of the rotary movement of the lever.
  • the fact that the sleeve can be displaced by means of the rotary movement of the lever and the connector housing can be locked to the mating connector housing by means of the same rotary movement of the lever means that the cable can be fixed and the connector housing can be locked to the mating connector housing by means of a single rotary movement of the lever.
  • the rotary movement thus causes a displacement of the sleeve in the plug-in direction to fix the cable and a locking of the connector housing with the mating connector housing.
  • the sleeve is movably arranged relative to the housing. Accordingly, the sleeve can be connected to the housing via at least one movable and / or rotatable element.
  • the plug-in direction is the direction in which the connector housing is plugged together with the mating connector housing.
  • the sleeve can be displaced axially in the longitudinal direction of the housing.
  • Fixing the cable means that the cable can no longer be moved relative to the sleeve and the housing. At the same time as the cable is fixed, the cable can also be sealed.
  • the cable can in particular be a fiber optic cable.
  • the housing also has an end on the cable side and an end on the plug side.
  • a strain relief element with an opening for passing a cable through is also arranged at the cable-side end of the housing.
  • the sleeve can be pushed at least partially onto the strain relief element in order to exert a radial pressure on the strain relief element relative to the insertion direction.
  • the sleeve is shifted in whole or in part via the strain relief element.
  • the sleeve exerts a radial pressure directly or indirectly on the strain relief element.
  • the strain relief element can be compressed.
  • the strain relief element then also exerts radial pressure on the cable.
  • the cable is advantageously fixed relative to the strain relief element, the sleeve and the housing. Since the cable is fixed to the strain relief element and the connector housing is locked to the mating connector housing, the cable cannot be displaced relative to the connector housing by tightening the cable. The connector housing therefore provides strain relief for the cable.
  • strain relief element can seal the connector housing against moisture, dust and dirt.
  • the sleeve can be displaced in a direction pointing towards the housing in order to exert the radial pressure on the strain relief element.
  • the sleeve can be displaced in a direction pointing away from the housing in order to exert the radial pressure on the strain relief element.
  • the sleeve and the strain relief element can be designed in such a way that sliding the sleeve away from the housing fixes the cable or pushes the sleeve onto the housing to fix the cable.
  • the sleeve In the case of the sleeve moving away from the housing, the sleeve executes an axial movement away from the housing. Alternatively, the sleeve executes an axial movement towards the housing when the sleeve approaches the housing.
  • the plug-in direction and the opposite plug-in direction are in particular parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connector housing. Furthermore, the plug-in direction and the opposite plug-in direction are in particular parallel to the axis of the cable if the cable runs in a straight line.
  • the sleeve can be moved in the plugging direction or in the opposite plugging direction.
  • the connector housing can also be angled.
  • the cable can also be angled.
  • an inner lateral surface of the sleeve is tapered.
  • an outer jacket surface of the strain relief element is tapered.
  • the surface of a volume that is created by rotating a graph of a function around a coordinate axis is called the lateral surface.
  • the fact that a lateral surface is tapered means that with a cross section of the lateral surface perpendicular to the coordinate axis, the circumference of the cross section decreases in one direction along the coordinate axis.
  • the inner surface of the sleeve and / or the outer surface of the strain relief element can be conical, i.e. the inner surface of the sleeve and / or the outer surface of the strain relief form the surface of a truncated cone.
  • the connector housing has a transmission in order to convert the rotary movement of the lever into the displacement of the sleeve.
  • the transmission is a mechanical device which has the lever and at least one further element.
  • the transmission converts a force on the lever into a force on the sleeve.
  • the force transmission between the lever and the at least one further element takes place in particular via a non-positive connection and / or via a positive connection.
  • the connector housing has the transmission in order to convert the rotary movement of the lever into the locking of the connector housing with the mating connector housing.
  • a force on the lever can also lock the connector housing with the mating connector housing.
  • the transmission has a transmission to effect a release of the cable by moving the sleeve before unlocking the connector housing from the mating connector housing or to release the cable by moving the sleeve after unlocking the connector housing from the mating connector housing to effect.
  • the transmission ratio of the transmission is determined by the mechanical design of the transmission and determines the ratio of the size of the rotation of the lever to the distance of the displacement of the sleeve and the ratio of the size of the rotation of the lever to the distance which a locking element travels .
  • the individual elements of the transmission involved e.g. the locking element
  • the locking element is designed as a hook
  • the length of the hook element which e.g. engages around a pin
  • the translation can be selected so that the strain relief is first released by moving the sleeve. As soon as the lock between the connector housing and the mating connector housing is released, the connector housing can be pushed back on the cable. The actual cable connection can then be released.
