Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for the inductive heating of flat goods transported in a feed direction, preferably a steel strip, with at least one transverse field inductor device extending transversely to the feed direction across the width of the flat goods, with a longitudinal axis running parallel to a transverse axis of the flat goods. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a system with which such a method can be carried out.
  • flat goods such as strips, sheets and slabs are also heated inductively.

  • Inductive heating systems for heating flat goods have longitudinal field inductors for longitudinal field heating or transverse field inductors for transverse field heating.

  • transverse field heating With transverse field heating, the inductor coils do not enclose the flat material, but are arranged on the top and/or underside of the flat material to be heated. In this way, the main magnetic flux of the inductor coils is directed perpendicularly to the surface of the slab.

  • the solution according to the invention is therefore based on the idea of varying the distance between the transverse field inductor device and the upper side or the underside of the flat material, depending on the requirement, by tilting the transverse field inductor device over the transverse profile of the flat material, so that the flat material is lower than its transverse profile is heated to different degrees. It can be assumed that the greater the distance between the flat material and the quadrature field inductor device, the less the heating will be. This is particularly noticeable in the transverse end areas of the flat material, whereby the inclined position of the inductor device results in a large distance in one end area and a small distance in the other end area, so that the end areas are heated to different degrees here. If the other end area is to be heated more, a smaller distance is created in this area than in the other end area by slanting. Abstract
