UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA PREPARAR UN ACIDO AZETIDIN-3-CARBOXILICO DE FORMULA O UNA DE SUS SALES, DONDE R1 REPRESENTA HIDROGENO, ALQUILO, CICLOALQUILO O FENIL-CH(R3)-, DONDE R3 REPRESENTA HIDROGENO, FENILO O ALQUILO, EN EL QUE SE HACE REACCIONAR UNA AZETIDINA DE FORMULA DONDE R1 ES COMO ANTES Y X REPRESENTA HIDROGENO, CARBOXILO O HIDROXIMETILO, CON UNA BASE DE METAL ALCALINO, A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 150-300JC, EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR QUE COMPRENDE UN METAL DEL GRUPO IIB DEL SISTEMA PERIODICO Y/O UN COMPUESTO DE DICHO METAL; Y, SI SE DESEA, SE CONVIERTE LA SAL DE ACIDO AZETIDIN-3-CARBOXILICO OBTENIDA EN EL CORRESPONDIENTE ACIDO.
