SE SOMETE A TRATAMIENTO TERMICO UN MATERIAL DE PARTIDA QUE PUEDE SER RESIDUO PESADO DE PETROLEO O BREA PROCEDENTE DE CARBON Y SE OBTIENE UN PRODUCTO SOLIDO CON UN ALTO CONTENIDO EN ANISOTROPIA, QUE SE ENCUENTRA PRINCIPALMENTE EN FORMA ESFERICA. POSTERIORMENTE, ESTE PRODUCTO SOLIDO SE TRATA CON UN DISOLVENTE AROMATICO PARA EXTRAER LAS MICROESFERAS DE MESOFASE CARBONOSA (MMC) QUE SON INSOLUBLES EN EL DISOLVENTE UTILIZADO. EL MATERIAL OBTENIDO, MICROESFERAS DE MESOFASE CARBONOSA, TIENE UN AMPLIO ESPECTRO DE USOS INDUSTRIALES, BIEN DIRECTAMENTE, O MEDIANTE TRATAMIENTO POSTERIOR DE PRENSADO Y CALCINACION PARA PRODUCIR MATERIALES DE CARBON ESPECIALES.
