ESTA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA ARRANCAR UN REACTOR DE OXIDO DE ETILENO DE LECHO FIJO, QUE CONTIENE UN CATALIZADOR QUE CONSTA DE PLATA, UN PROMOTOR DE METAL ALCALINO Y UN COPROMOTOR DE RENIO SOPORTADO SOBRE UN SOPORTE DE ALUMINA, PROCEDIMIENTO QUE CONSISTE EN: A) CALENTAR EL REACTOR A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 5-55 (GRADOS) C POR DEBAJO DE LAS CONDICIONES DE OPERACION NORMALES; B) PASAR UN GAS QUE CONTIENE ETILENO SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR EN EL REACTOR A UNA VELOCIDAD DE FLUJO ENTRE 5 Y 40 % DE LA VELOCIDAD DE FLUJO DE DISEÑO; C) AÑADIR UN MODERADOR DE CLORHIDROCARBURO AL GAS QUE PASA SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR Y DESPUES ENTRE 0,1 Y 10 ML DE MODERADOR (BASE LIQUIDA) POR 28,3 L DE CATALIZADOR AÑADIDO; D) AÑADIR OXIGENO AL GAS QUE PASA SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR, Y AUMENTAR LA TEMPERATURA DEL REACTOR Y LAS VELOCIDADES DE FLUJO DE GAS A LAS CONDICIONES DE OPERACION.
