SE DESCUBREN SECUENCIAS DE DNA LAS CUALES SE USAN PARA LA SINTESIS DE CAROTENIDOS TALES COMO LICOFENO, (BETA)-CAROTENO, ZEASANTINA, O ZEASANTINA-DIGLUCOSIDA, ESTO ES, SECUENCIAS DE DNA CODIFICANDO ENZIMAS DE BIOSINTESIS DE CAROTENIDOS. ESTAS SECUENCIAS DE DNA SON LAS SECUENCIAS 1-6, RESPECTIVAMENTE, QUE SE MUESTRAN EN LA ESPECIFICACION. TAMBIEN SE DESCUBRE UN PROCESO PARA PRODUCIR UN COMPUESTO CAROTENIDO, QUE SE SELECCIONA DEL GRUPO COMPUESTO DE PIROFOSFATO DE PREFITOENO, FITOENO, LICOFENO, (BETA)-CAROTENO, ZEASANTINA Y GLUCOSIDO DE ZEASANTINA, EL CUAL COMPRENDE TRANSFORMAR A UN HUESPED CON AL MENOS UNA DE LAS SECUENCIAS 1- 6 ANTERIORMENTE DESCRITAS Y CULTIVAR EL TRANSFORMADO.
