SE DESCRIBE UN PROCESO DE SEPARACION DE ETBE Y DE ETANOL. ESTE PROCESO COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES ETAPAS PRINCIPALES: (1) EXTRACCION DE ETANOL POR AGUA, SIENDO EL REFINADO ETBE SATURADO EN AGUA Y EL EXTRACTO UNA MEZCLA DE ETANOL Y AGUA QUE CONTIENE UNA PEQUEÑA PROPORCION DE ETBE; (2) CONCENTRACION DE LA MEZCLA PRECEDENTE, SIENDO EL DESTILADO UNA MEZCLA DE COMPOSICION CERCANA AL AZEOTROPO ETANOL-AGUA Y QUE CONTIENE UNA MUY PEQUEÑA PROPORCION DE ETBE; (3) DESTILACION HETEROAZEOTROPICA DE ESTE DESTILADO EN DOS COLUMNAS ACOPLADAS CON UN DECANTADOR EN CABEZA, UTILIZANDO ESTA DESTILACION EL ETBE COMO AGENTE AZEOTROPANTE; SIENDO EL RESIDUO DE LA PRIMERA COLUMNA ETANOL DE APROXIMADAMENTE 99% EN MOLES Y SIENDO EL RESIDUO DE LA SEGUNDA COLUMNA AGUA RECUPERADA DURANTE LA ETAPA DE CONCENTRACION QUE HA SIDO UTILIZADA COMO SOLVENTE DE EXTRACCION EN LA ETAPA (1). LA TERCERA ETAPA DEL PROCESO DE LA INVENCION PUEDE CONSTITUIR ELLA SOLA EN UNA UNIDAD DE DESHIDRATACION DEL ETANOL UTILIZANDO EL ETBE COMO AGENTEDESHIDRATANTE. EL PROCESO DE SEPARACION DE LA INVENCION PUEDE ADEMAS ESTAR INTEGRADO EN UNA UNIDAD DE PRODUCCION DE ETBE, QUE COMPRENDE LA ETERIFICACION POR EL ETANOL DEL ISOBUTENO CONTENIDO EN UNA COPA C4 DE CRAQUEO POR VAPOR, DE CRAQUEO CATALITICO O DE DESHIDROGENACION DE ISOBUTANO. EL ETANO SEPARADO DEL ETBE ES ENTONCES RECICLADO HACIA LA ZONA DE ETERIFICACION.
