LA PRESENTE INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCESO PARA LA PURIFICACION DE ACETONA PURA QUE DERIVA DE PROCESOS PARA LA PRODUCCION DE ACETONA DE FENOL, IMPUREZA PRINCIPALMENTE DEBIDA A CUMENO, AGUA, ALDEHIDOS Y METANOL, QUE COMPRENDE: - ALIMENTAR LA CORRIENTE DE ACETONA PURA QUE SURGE DEL FRACCIONAMIENTO PRIMARIO DE UNA PLANTA PARA LA PRODUCCION DE FENOL/ACETONA A UNA PRIMERA COLUMNA DE DESTILACION A LA QUE TAMBIEN SE ALIMENTA UNA SOLUCION DE HIDROXIDO DE SODIO AL 2%; - ENVIAR LA CORRIENTE A LA CABEZA DE LA PRIMERA COLUMNA, QUE CONSTA DE ACETONA, AGUA Y CUMENO A UNA SEGUNDA COLUMNA A LA QUE TAMBIEN SE ALIMENTA EL TRIETILENGLICOL DEL SOLVENTE EXTRACTIVO; - RECUPERAR LA ACETONA PRACTICAMENTE ANHIDRA DE LA CABEZA DE LA SEGUNDA COLUMNA; - ALIMENTAR EL PRODUCTO DEL FONDO DE LA SEGUNDA COLUMNA, QUE CONTIENE TRIETILENGLICOL, AGUA, CUMENO Y ACETONA A UNA TERCERA COLUMNA DE DESTILACION EN LA QUE SE RECUPERA UNA MEZCLA AZEOTROPICA DE AGUA/CUMENO DE LA CABEZA Y TRIETILENGLICOL ANHIDRO DE LA COLA; - ENVIAR LA MEZCLA AZEOTROPICA DE AGUA/CUMENO A UNA GARRAFA EN LA CUAL SE SEPARA UNA FASE DE AGUA, QUE CONTIENE ACETONA, QUE ES RECICLADA A LA PRIMERA COLUMNA Y UNA FASE ORGANICA, QUE CONTIENE CUMENO Y ACETONA, QUE ES ENVIADA AL FRACCIONAMIENTO PRIMARIO.
