SE PRESENTA UN PROCESO DE DOS PASOS PARA LA POSTCLORACION DE UN HOMOPOLIMERO DE PVC Y OTROS POLIMEROS QUE CONTENGAN PREDOMINANTEMENTE CLORURO DE VINIL, DICHO PROCESO PRODUCE PVC CLORADO (CPVC) QUE CONTIENE AL MENOS UN 70% DE CL, EN UN PROCESO DE DOS PASOS RAPIDO PERO CONTROLABLE CATALIZADO USANDO UN CATALIZADOR DE PEROXIDO ORGANICO EN VEZ DE RADIACION ACTINICA. MENOS DE UN EXCESO DEL 10% DE CL PERMANECE DESPUES DE LA SEGUNDA ETAPA, INCLUSO CUANDO SE HACE CPVC DE UN 75% DE CL. LA TEMPERATURA SE MANTIENE POR DEBAJO DE LA TG DEL PRIMER PASO DEL CPVC FORMADO. EN UN SEGUNDO PASO, EL PRIMER CPVC FORMADO SE CLORA ADICIONALMENTE EN LA PRESENCIA DE MENOS DE UN 10% DE EXCESO DE CLORO, A UNA TEMPERATURA EN LA BANDA DE ENTRE 90 (GRADOS) Y 130 (GRADOS) C HASTA QUE EL CONTENIDO DE CL EN EL CPVC SE ENCUENTRE EN LA BANDA DE ENTRE EL 69 Y 75%. SE OBTIENE AL MENOS UN INCREMENTO DEL 3% DE CONTENIDO DE CL DEL CPVC DEL PRIMER PASO. PREFERIBLEMENTE, NO SE USA UN EXCESO SUBSTANCIAL DE CLORO Y NO SE NECESITA RECUPERAR EL CL RESTANTE. SE PUEDE OBTENER CPVC CON UN 75% DE CONTENIDO DE CLORO EN ALREDEDOR DE 3 HORAS.
