UN METODO PARA CONFERIR ANTIGENICIDAD O INCREMENTAR ESTA EN UNA PROTEINA ENLAZADA CON DISULFURO, TRATANDO LA PROTEINA CON UN AGENTE OXIDANTE, POR EJEMPLO UN PERIODATO, CON UN POTENCIAL DE OXIDACION SUFICIENTE PARA PENETRAR LOS ENLACES DEL DISULFURO. DESPUES SE INACTIVA EL EXCESO DE AGENTE OXIDANTE AÑADIENDO UN AGENTE REDUCTOR. LA PROTEINA RESULTANTE EXHIBE UN INCREMENTO DE SU CAPACIDAD DE LIGARSE CON ANTICUERPOS SELECCIONADOS, EN PARTICULAR, ANTICUERPOS MONOCLONALES DIRIGIDOS A LOS EPITOPES PEPTIDOS LINEALES DE LA PROTEINA.
