Abstract

Un método para blanquear pasta, que comprende: introducir pasta que tiene una consistencia elevada, superior a 20%, en una zona de reacción; introducir en la zona de reacción un agente blanqueante gaseoso que contiene ozono; y avanzar la pasta a través de la zona de reacción en una manera similar al flujo de pistón durante un tiempo suficiente para obtener blanqueo de la pasta; caracterizado porque la pasta está en forma de partículas que tienen un tamaño suficiente para facilitar una penetración sustancialmente completa por el agente blanqueante gaseoso que contiene ozono cuando se expone a éste; las partículas de pasta se elevan, desplazan y agitan cuando pasan a través de la zona de reacción para dispersar las partículas de pasta en el agente blanqueante que contiene ozono y para exponer sustancialmente todas las superficies de una mayoría de las partículas de pasta al agente blanqueante gaseoso que contiene ozono; y se hace avanzar las partículas dispersas de pasta a través de la zona de reacción a un índice de dispersión de 8 o menos para formar una pasta blanqueada de modo sustancialmente uniforme que tiene una blancura GE incrementada.
