EL PROCESO CONSISTE EN FORMAR UNA DISPERSION ACUOSA DE DIOXIDO DE TITANIO A UN PH INFERIOR A 3 Y PREFERENTEMENTE MENOR DE 1 Y DEPOSITAR UN PRIMER REVESTIMIENTO DE UN OXIDO HIDRICO DE UN ELEMENTO QUE ACTUA COMO INHIBIDOR DE LA RUTILIZACION Y UN SEGUNDO REVESTIMIENTO DE UN FOSFATO SOBRE LAS PARTICULAS DE DIOXIDO DE TITANIO. EL PRODUCTO DEL PROCESO TIENE UN AREA SUPERFICIAL ELEVADA QUE QUEDA RETENIDA AL CALENTARLO DURANTE LARGOS PERIODOS DE TIEMPO A UNA TEMPERATURA ELEVADA. UN NUEVO PRODUCTO ES EL DIOXIDO DE TITANIO DE ANATASA EN PARTICULAS REVESTIDO CON UN INHIBIDOR DEL RUTILO Y UN FOSFATO, QUE TIENE UN AREA SUPERFICIAL ESPECIFICA DE AL MENOS 50 M2/G Y RETIENE AL MENOS UN 80% DE SU AREA SUPERFICIAL DESPUES DE CALENTARLO A 800 (GRADOS) C DURANTE 7 DIAS.
