SE PROVEE UN NUEVO PROMOTOR DE PLANTA ESPECIFICO PARA SEMILLA, CAPAZ DE EXPRESAR UN GEN COLOCADO BAJO CONTROL DE DICHO PROMOTOR ANTES O DURANTE LA BIOSINTESIS DE LIPIDOS O ACIDOS GRASOS EN CELULAS DE PLANTAS. EL SE DA EN LA NATURALEZA EN EL GEN DE LA PROTEINA PORTADORA DE ACILO (ACP). ESTO ABRE LA POSIBILIDAD DE MODIFICAR LA SINTESIS DE ACIDO GRASO EN PLANTAS, LO CUAL PUEDE PRODUCIR QUE CAMBIE LA COMPOSICION DEL TRIACILOGLICEROL DE LAS SEMILLAS QUE CONTIENEN ACEITE. OTRA OPCION ES LA PRODUCCION DE UNA PROTEINA DESEADA EN PLANTAS, BIEN PARA MEJORAR EL VALOR NUTRITIVO DE LAS SEMILLAS, O BIEN PARA LA PRODUCCION DE PROTEINAS ESPECIFICAS QUE PUEDEN SER AISLADAS DE LOS FRUTOS DE LAS PLANTAS.
