LA GAMA DE HUESPEDES SE EXPANDE MEDIANTE LA SUSTITUCION DEL GEN DE LA ENVUELTA DEL ASLV POR UN GEN DE LA ENVUELTA DE UN VIRUS CAPAZ DE INFECTAR CELULAS DE MAMIFEROS Y AVIARES. LOS VECTORES RETROVIRICOS DERIVADOS DEL ASLV RECOMBINANTES RESULTANTES PUEDEN REPLICARSE DE FORMA EFICAZ EN CELULAS AVIARES, INFECTANDO CELULAS AVIARES Y DE MAMIFERO CON UNA ELEVADA VALORACION, Y SON DEFECTUOSOS PARA LA REPLICACION EN CELULAS DE MAMIFERO.
