Abstract

La invención se refiere a un procedimiento ventajoso para la producción industrial de 2-ciclododecil-propanol, codiciada sustancia olorosa de la raíz del almizcle, mediante la reacción de ciclododeceno en la presencia de cantidades catalíticas de un iniciador radicalar con un excedente de ácido propiónico o de un derivado del ácido propiónico y la subsecuente hidrogenación catalítica del ácido 2-ciclododecil propiónico o de los correspondientes derivados del ácido 2-ciclododecil propiónico formados.
