Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de un éter de celulosa, que comprende: a) alcalinizar una pasta de celulosa; b) eterificar la pasta de celulosa alcalinizada para formar un éter de celulosa; c) lavar el éter de celulosa; d) secar el éter de celulosa a un contenido de humedad reducido; e) triturar el éter de celulosa para obtener una forma de partículas; f) ajustar la temperatura del éter de celulosa en partículas a un valor de 50°C a 130°C; revolver continuamente el éter de celulosa en partículas en un reactor, haciéndose girar el reactor axialmente o de extremo a extremo en una estufa o en una cámara o espacio con temperatura controlada mientras que se pone en contacto simultáneamente el éter de celulosa con un ácido para despolimerizar parcialmente el éter de celulosa de tal manera que una solución acuosa al dos por ciento del mismo presente una viscosidad de 200 centipoises (cP) o menor a una temperatura de 20°C; y h) neutralizar parcial o sustancialmente el ácido poniéndolo en contacto con un compuesto básico.
