Abstract

The invention relates to a machine and method for the high-pressure treatment of liquid products. The invention is suitable for use in the food industry for the hygienisation of liquid products through the application of high pressure, generally greater than 1,000 bar. The inventive treatment machine comprises a pressurisation sub-chamber (13) and a treatment sub-chamber (14). Moreover, a ring (3) is disposed next to the aforementioned treatment sub-chamber (14), said ring providing aseptic sealing by means of a gasket (10) and an outer protective element (2) and comprising transverse conduits (4) through which the liquid to be treated passes during the filling/emptying of the treatment sub-chamber (14). Moreover, said conduits are independent of the high pressures generated in the treatment sub-chamber (14) when said sub-chamber is closed with a plug (1) and pressurised by means of a pressurisation fluid entering the pressurisation sub-chamber (13) via a conduit (12) in the plug (6) for the pressurisation fluid.
