Abstract
Una composición de revestimiento de control de incrustaciones que comprende un sistema aglutinante basado en polisiloxano, un 0,01-20 % en peso en seco de uno o más polisiloxanos modificados con un hidrófilo y uno o más biocidas, en la que la relación en peso entre el uno o más polisiloxanos modificados con un hidrófilo y el uno o más biocidas está en el intervalo del 1:0,2 a 1:6, y en la que el uno o más polisiloxanos modificados con un hidrófilo no contienen grupos que pueden reaccionar con el aglutinante o cualquier reticulante.

Comentarios a los resultados (composición A-F):
Algunos biocidas podían ser más eficaces que otros contra algunas especies de incrustantes. Debido a que las 5 especies incrustantes varían de una localización a otra, el comportamiento de la composición de capa de acabado puede variar también. Por lo tanto, se incluyen resultados de ambas localizaciones de balsa.
El comportamiento de las composiciones de capa de acabado con biocidas aumenta drásticamente cuando se añade un polisiloxano modificado con un hidrófilo, tal como un polisiloxano modificado con poliéter no reactivo (composiciones A y B) puesto que este asegura el transporte del biocida a través del revestimiento de PDMS
10 reticulado a la superficie. Los biocidas en solitario o los biocidas en combinación con polisiloxanos hidrófobos no reactivos no aumentan el rendimiento de la composición de la capa de acabado (composición D). También se ha descubierto que el uso de un polisiloxano modificado con un hidrófilo no reactivo en solitario no proporciona las ventajas de la combinación del polisiloxano modificado con un hidrófilo no reactivo y el biocida.

Comentarios a los resultados (composiciones J, K y L)
Se observa que los ejemplos de compuestos de PDMS no modificados con PEG hidrófilos usados en las composiciones J y K (YBD-125 y CMS-222) muestran un comportamiento mejorado en comparación con el polisiloxano sin biocida de referencia (composición L) después de 24 semanas de inmersión estática en Singapur.
