Abstract
Procedimiento para la fabricación de aceros inoxidables con contenidos de carbono muy pequeños a partir de una masa fundida de acero que contiene Cr o Cr-Ni con contenidos elevados de carbono en un convertidor, que presenta por lo menos una tobera de soplado por debajo del nivel del baño y por lo menos una lanza de soplado por encima del nivel del baño, introduciéndose en varias fases de afino de la masa fundida de acero en la primera fase de afino oxígeno a través de la lanza de soplado y gas inerte a través de la tobera de soplado y en fases de afino de la masa fundida de acero que siguen a aquélla a través de las toberas de soplado oxígeno en combinación con gas inerte, reduciéndose con el contenido de carbono en disminución en la masa fundida de acero la porción de oxígeno introducida en proporción con la porción de gas inerte, que se caracteriza por el hecho de que se emplean toberas de soplado que varían en la sección transversal, en las que se extiende una varilla desplazable axialmente desde el extremo de la tobera, desplazándose hacia delante la varilla en la primera fase de afino, con la disminución mayor posible de la sección transversal de la tobera, con su extremo libre hasta la boca de la tobera y la varilla se extrae en las fases de afino siguientes para obtener el mayor aumento posible de la sección transversal de la tobera.
