PROCEDIMIENTO DE PREPARACION DE UNA COMPOSICION ESTABLE DE S-ASDENOSIL-L-METIONINA (SAM). SE CULTIVAN, EN UN MEDIO CONTENIENDO METIONINA, MICROORGANISMOS DEL GENERO SACCHARONYCES, CANDIDA U OTROS. SE SEPARAN DEL CULTIVO LAS CELULAS DEL MICROORGANISMO Y SE SOMETEN A EXTRACCION CON UN ACIDO O UN FORMIATO DE ALCOHILO. EL EXTRACTO CONTENIENDO SAM SE PURIFICA POR METODOS CONVENCIONALES. SE PREPARA UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA CON UNA SAL DE SAM QUE CONTIENE 0,5-3 MOLES DE ACIDO/MOL DE SAM Y CON UNA SAL DE METAL BIVALENTE O TRIVALENTE, SOLUBLE EN AGUA. SE ELIMINA EL DISOLVENTE ACUOSO O SE AÑADE UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO, Y SE DEJA PRECIPITAR. DE APLICACION EN PREPARADOS FARMACEUTICOS PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE LA ADIPOSIS HEPATICA, HIPERLIPEMIA, ARTEIOSCLEROSIS Y OTRAS DOLENCIAS.
