PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE COMPUESTOS DE PODOFILOTOXINA Y DERIVADOS DE FORMULA (I) Y USO DE LOS COMPUESTOS PARA LA OBTENCION DE PREPARACIONES FARMACEUTICAS. EL COMPUESTO PODOFILOTOXINA SE EXTRAE DE LAS PLANTAS DEL GENERO PODOPHYLLUM (AUNQUE SE HA EMPLEADO HASTA AHORA UN EXTRACTO IMPURO DENOMINADO <PODOFILINA>), DE LOS RIZONAS, SECADOS Y FINALMENTE MOLIDOS, CON ACETATO DE ETILO Y EL EXTRACTO SE CONCENTRA Y SE FILTRA A TRAVES DEL GEL DE SILICE. LA FRACCION DESEADA SE CROMATOGRAFIA DESPUES SOBRE ALUMINA ACIDA Y SE PRODUCE UNA FRACCION QUE ENTRE OTROS COMPUESTOS CONTIENE PODOFILOTOXINA QUE SE AISLA DE LA MEZCLA POR CROMATOGRAFIA EN GEL DE SILICE Y DESPUES SE RECRISTALIZA. LA PODOFILOTOXINA Y SUS DERIVADOS SE UTILIZAN EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE ENFERMEDADES TROPICALES, ENFERMEDADES DE LA PIEL, REACCIONES DE RECHAZO EN TRANSPLANTES, COLAGENOSIS, ENFERMEDADES MENTALES (VIRUS) Y NEUROLOGICAS.
