METODO PARA ENSAYAR CUANTITATIVAMENTE LA PROTEINA C EN UN MEDIO QUE LA CONTIENE. CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR LA PROTEINA C EN EL MEDIO QUE LA CONTIENE, CON VENENO DE LA SERPIENTE AGKISTRODON CONTORTRIX O CON VENENO DE OTRA ESPECIE DE SERPIENTE, QUE EXPERIMENTE UNA REACCION CRUZADA INMUNOLOGICA CON EL VENENO DE AGKISTRODON CONTORTRIX, DURANTE UN PERIODO DE TIEMPO SUFICIENTE PARA PRODUCIR LA ACTIVACION MAXIMA DEL ZIMOGENO PROTEINA C A UNA PROTEINASA CON ACTIVIDAD DE PROTEINA CA Y DETERMINAR LA CANTIDAD DE PROTEINA C ACTIVADA ASI FORMADA, YA SEA POR MEDIDA FOTOMETRICA DE LA CANTIDAD DE PRODUCTO DE ESCISION COLOREADO O FLUORESCENTE FORMADO, COMO RESULTADO DE LA ACCION HIDROLITICA CATALITICA DE LA PROTEINA C ACTIVADA SOBRE UN SUSTRATO CROMOGENICO SINTETICO O POR MEDIDA DE LA PROLONGACION DEL TIEMPO DE COAGULACION DE UN SUSTRATO NATURAL CAUSADA POR LA PROTEINA C ACTIVADA.
