Abstract

Le procédé selon l'invention se distingue en ce qu'on lessive cette matière avec une solution aqueuse d'acide sulfurique pour produire une solution aqueuse contenant des sulfates de zinc et de manganèse dissous, cette solution contenant environ 30 à 100 g/l d'ions zinc et environ 5 à 45 g/l d'ions manganèse, on fait passer ladite solution à travers des cellules à électrolyse qui se suivent, on électrolyse cette solution dans la première de ces cellules dans des conditions inhibant la formation de bioxyde de manganèse et favorisant le dépôt de zinc, on électrolyse la solution obtenue dans une autre desdites cellules à électrolyse dans des conditions favorisant la formation de bioxyde de manganèse, on récupère le zinc de ladite première cellule à électrolyse et le bioxyde de manganèse de ladite première cellule à électrolyse et le bioxyde de manganèse de ladite seconde cellule à electrolyse. Ce procédé est destiné au traitement de matières contenant du zinc et une proportion relativement forte de manganèse.
