Abstract

Procédé de fabrication de polyméthacrylate de méthyle. Une charge composée de méthacrylate de méthyle monomère, d'un inhibiteur, d'un initiateur et d'un agent e réticulation est mélangée et versée dans un tubé de forme exactement cylindrique, dégazée et réticulée en l'absence d'oxygène, placée dans un bain d'eau à 27 degrés C dont le tube est sorti après la fin de la réticulation pour récupérer une tige substantiellement rigide d'au moins 95 % de polyméthacrylate de méthyle de bonne aptitude à l'usinage, uniformité de couleur et qualité optique et substantiellement libre de contrainte qui peut être travaillée de sorte à obtenir des lentilles extrêmement fines et libres de distorsions. Application : fabrication de lentilles de contact dures et d'implants de lentilles intraoculaires.
